It looked a stonewaller to me tbh, would've been screaming for it if it was at the other end.

Would have liked to see the challenge on Trusty, that he got stitches after, from a few different angles.

Spfl on YouTube showed our player touching the ball before catching the guys ankle, (we had one denied recently the exact same), but BBC coverage after highlights didn't show the same angle and made it look like AJ didn't touch the ball, how they get away with this at bbc is astonishing

AJ definitely got a slight touch of the ball but also full contact on the saints player, for me it was a penalty and would be going off my nut if it was the other way round

I thought it was a penalty even though he did touch the ball. I can see why it wasn't given but I don't agree with it.

True. However that was the same call in Europe on us so got the ball. No penalty must be the call.

It’s yet another poor call from VAR as it should have been a penalty to St Mirren. He does touch the ball but goes into the player, I can see how a ref missed it as Johnston gets a bit of the ball but VAR should recommend a review.

I am laughing at the outrage on their disallowed goal, even if it doesn’t touch Danilo, Dessers blatantly shoves the Motherwell defender to get the space.

Looks a pen to me but after we were told it didn’t matter how you catch someone as long as you play the ball before (Engels v Bayern) then it’s not a penalty.

Should have been a penalty yesterday, as Engels v Bayern should have been too.

You cant just excuse everything because you play ball first if you are also endangering an opponent by doing so.
    Both are fouls.

Millwall goalkeeper yesterday was an extreme example, he technically played ball first but got a red and should get a 10 game ban for that assault.
Ref amazingly didn't show red onfield before VAR.

I think the reason that pens aren't given for those ones, is that if the defender feels he can get something on the ball, he has to go for it. Can't just let an opposition player score. In midfield making the challenge isn't so vital, so if you go for it get a slight touch and nail the opponent, it's considered more reckless. In the box, it's necessary more than reckless.

I think the rule is if he touched the ball then it’s no pk. It’s the same as the Bayern game, seems to be the rule.

I'm pretty sure it is not. If it is deemed excessive force or reckless etc it is a foul regardless of whether you got the ball. Not saying that applies in this situation, just clarifying that getting the ball first does not mean it can't be a pen.

Yep, apparently touching the ball now is irrelevant, all about excessive force and all.

That was a penalty. Just shows how * up things have become with VAR that this is even debatable for some people.

Was a penalty. But look how much the SMSM are banging on about it, yet they were all adamant that the disallowed at hibs last weekend was the CORRECT call until it was made clear the other day that it should've in fact stood. So * them.

Doesn't really matter as was a penalty regardless. Possibly a red card too as definitely dangerous. No idea how VAR didn't intervene. Would have been absolutely fuming if it was the other way round.

About our cheatingly disallowed goal V hibs, from Celtic365

Allegedly Collum had a senior refs meeting on Thursdays night an let them hear the VAR audio from the Maeda disallowed goal at Easter Road .
Muir "Probably out but can't be sure" his assistant then says "yeah, probably out"
Why haven’t the public heard an the explanation ?
If the audio contains the instruction ‘Probably out but can’t be sure’ then the onus all switches to McLean who ultimately made the decision to restart the match with a goal-kick to Hibs.
