What an absolute disgraceful club man Utd are.
Sacking 39% of their staff, taking away canteen because of terrible decisions by the board on managers, players whilst making relatively minor losses v revenue.
1% reduction players salaries would fill the gap.
They even took Sir Alex role away.
Owners who invested £250 k and mortgaged the rest now sitting in an asset worth £6B then getting a patsy in to do their dirty work as a condition for his shareholding.
Shame on the Glazers, shame on Jim Radcliffe.

More than a decade of irrelevance with US owners who clearly prioritize the commercial aspects of the brand over sporting success. There is no sporting philosophy/direction and are indistinguishable from a factory like Chelsea that treat players like commodities. They have been left in the dust by their crosstown neighbors by just about every sporting metric

It is a brand that maintains value for their owners who have even shed a minority stake to give the illusion it can be run as a football club but their play hasn’t inspired anything related to football for a long time, bragging to your mates about your market cap just doesn’t have the same ring as winning a title or competing in an inspiring manner

Moreover, their future remains bleak as it is not a club owned by the fans with the only ownership possible going forward are gulf states, investor groups or billionaires where the sporting aspect will continue to be secondary to its marketing & revenue advantage

The American Glazers are bad but this is the sort of profile ManYoo will have to entertain as there’s zero incentive to actually win titles much less ‘care’ what the fans want

At least a renovated stadium is probably in their near future as this also helps the rich get richer

If football were burgers, ManYoo would be McDo - cheap but boring product that is in heavy marketing rotation.

Would not be surprised if incoming Rangers American ownership treated club in same way.
Just a franchise to be bled dry.

Absolute riddy for the club. That Ratcliffe must be a total * too.

If the club is inefficient and bloated then quietly sort it out in a dignified way. Announcing mass redundancies every year is ridiculous, especially while you’re hiring and firing managers and paying 10s of millions for dud after dud.

I thought it was disgusting, but it doesn't surprise me. Apparently the massive staff cull only saves a million or 2 a year. I don't think that money is worth the negative PR from the move, so the business aspect probably doesn't stand.
The club pays Harry Maguire 200k per week, you could easily just say you know that £100m we were gonna give you to spend, well it's now £90m to help cover staff costs for the next few years or just not pay * players hundreds of thousands per week.
