Tens of thousands of Britons could find themselves stranded abroad after the country's third largest package holiday group went into administration.
The XL Leisure Group, which operates XL airlines, flies to 50 destinations, mainly in the Mediterranean. All its flights have now been cancelled and its aircraft grounded.

I think a lot of smaller companies will go bust over the next few months due to fuel costs and other factors. Personally i think flyglobespan will be next

Picked my mum and dad up at 3am this morning, got them through to Glasgow Airport where they were flying out to Tenerife, on an XL flight of course. At that point we didn't know about the problems, I dropped them off and headed home. Half roads back I got the call to turn around.

On the face of it they were fine, but I was absolutely gutted for them this morning, it's been booked for months.

The company were taking bookings and money from people upto mid-night last night. A shower of 'Dirty Thieving F*cking Bassa's...:47:

These companies don't give a * about anyone else but themselves.

Most people going on holiday would have saved up for months, some maybe even put themselves in debt to go away and them money grabbing arseholes don't give a * :47:

It happened to my brother and his girlfriend too with that seguro mob, they were due to fly out today to santa ponsa for his gfs 21st as you can imagine they were gutted. They tried to get last minute deals but couldnt get any as all prices had rocketed. They are now on their road to newcastle for a party weekend.

West Ham might have to sack Zola after about a day in the job due to having lack of money :56:

Its almost a daily occurance at the moment. Last week Zoom Airlines went under then three days ago Futura Airlines went under and two days ago Seguro holidays went under and now XL Airways have gone.

All these companies had allot of flights on offer to/from Glasgow.

It will only continue and bets on the next companies going are SkyEurope, FlyGlobespan, LTE International and a good few others.... :38:
