    2-2 finished all square.

No damage done thankfully, but will need some other team to do the Ghirls a favour and take something off of City and same with Sevco. Both have much much better GH than Celtic.

A fair way to go in the season still.

Sadiku's only win v Sevco was her first game in charge against Sevco...
    • 17 March 2024 - Celtic 2-1 Sevco (23/24)
So since then, her record is P7 W0 D2 L5 - including has lost all 3 Cup games v Sevco, losing to Sevco in both at SF stage last season and k/o in League Cup again this season.

    Her two wins v City
    • 31 March 2024 - City 1-2 Celtic (23/24)
    • 18 August 2024 - Celtic 1-0 City (24/25)
And has lost her only Cup game against City, knocked out of the Scottish Cup a couple of weeks ago.

    GLASGOW CITY…2

    (Muir 25, Koslova 30)

    CELTIC…2

    (Gallacher 2, McAneny 51)

Celtic FC Women were held to a 2-2 draw against Glasgow City on Friday evening as both side’s took home a point.

Racing into a one-goal lead thanks to an early Amy Gallacher strike, the Hoops found themselves behind in the first half.

However, an early second half strike from Maria McAneny sealed a point on the road for Elena Sadiku’s side.

Following an emphatic 8-0 win over Dundee United at Tannadice, it was another evening of Friday night football for the Ghirls.

And having made a blistering start last week against United, the Hoops did the same at Petershill, opening the scoring inside two minutes.

Returning to the starting line-up, Amy Gallacher fired home the opener with a superb strike on her 101st appearance in green and white.

It was the ideal way to kick-off proceedings for the Ghirls, who enjoyed a bright opening period with Saoirse Noonan having a few sights at goal early on.

Morgan Cross was also a constant threat down the right for the Celts, with her pace and dribbling causing issues for the home side.

However, the game was soon flipped on its head as Glasgow City scored twice inside five minutes to take the lead.

With two fairly similar efforts, the home side turned the match around in the opening 45 minutes as Sadiku and her side found themselves suddenly behind on the half hour mark.

Just before the break, Saoirse Noonan had an effort go close from a free kick just outside the box, which went narrowly wide.

It was a warning shot to the home side, and it didn’t take much longer for the Hoops to find themselves level through Maria McAneny.

The midfielder who found two goals at Tannadice last week, make it three goals in two games with another superb strike, finding the corner of the net inside the area.

In the second 45 minutes, it was the Hoops who enjoyed a number of strong spells and looking to push on and find that all-important third goal.

Glasgow City did have spells in the game where they looked to get forward. But Kelsey Daugherty was constantly a match for any shot or cross fired her way.

Natalie Ross came close to firing the Hoops in front just before the hour mark, forcing Lee Gibson into an important stop from an effort on the edge.

Substitutes Kit Loferski and Abi Harrison also threatened the City goal, but were unlucky not to find the target on three occasions.

Despite being in the ascendancy for much of the second 45, it would ultimately end all square at Petershill Park.

That result leaves the Hoops level with Glasgow City at the top, and as we head into the international break with one fixture remaining before the split.

CELTIC: Daugherty. Lawton, Clark, Barclais, Cross (Luana 56), Ashworth-Clifford (Loferski 67), Ross, McGregor, McAneny (Cavanagh 84), Gallacher (Agnew 67), Noonan (Harrison 84)

    Subs: Logan, M.Carstens, Westin, Bruna

League is very close. 4 teams on 51 points with 1 game til the split. Last season at the split huns had 60, Celtic and City had 56.
    Hibs vs Celtic
    Huns vs diets
    City vs Motherwell

With Hibs and Diets pro the league has become far more interesting.

We need to start beating the Huns and City though. Feels like Hibs and Hearts can beat them but we can't.

The final 10 SWPL fixtures of the 2024/25 campaign have today been confirmed as the Ghirls kick off their post-split matches with a trip to Edinburgh to face Hearts.

This afternoon, the Scottish Women’s Premier League have announced the dates for the run in as Elena Sadiku’s side gear up for another thrilling final 10 fixtures of the season.

Kick-starting with a trip to the Oriam on Sunday, March 16, the Hoops then welcome Glasgow City at home to round of the month.

Another derby affair awaits the Celts on Sunday, April 13 as we travel to take on Rangers, before a midweek match at home against Hibernian on the following Wednesday evening.

Rounding off the first five fixtures with a trip to take on Motherwell, the Celts then face the same order of fixtures for their final five, but this time with the venues reversed, with away matches against Glasgow City, and Hibernian, alongside home outings against Hearts, Rangers and finishing off the campaign by welcoming Motherwell.

With one game still remaining before the post-split matches get underway, the Hoops travel to the capital to face Hibernian on Sunday, March 2 on matchday 22, and the final regular game of the campaign.
