He's been asked to make an impact and he's doing that.. did it v Bayern 1sf leg too...

Let's just praise him for that.

Depends how much we could get for him. If nobody is offering us much of a profit I would still hang on to him and maybe loan him out for a season. He needs regular minutes and starts to see if he can indeed be a reliable performer and he's not good enough just now to start for us.

Loan to an English side or a top 6 Scottish side would be ideal.

He'll never win. For some players there is always a "Ah but..."

Yang is going in the right direction for sure

Aye he lost the ball a couple of times, but when a player comes on and impacts two goals, scoring one himself, then it's natural to gloss over some mistakes. We do it with any other player.

I think he’s always going to be a level below what we need with the odd flashes. This team has totally outgrown a Yang developmental prospect but good for him showing up yesterday. It still don’t change my mind about selling him.

Been debated to death but ultimately it boils down to this, do you think he’ll be part of this Celtic squad next season?

My opinion is absolutely no chance and there is good reason for that. He isn’t of the requisite quality.

I think if he continues to materially impact games as he has of late until the end of the season, then potentially yes. If he doesn't, then no, probably not.

I think we'll sign another winger regardless but I'm pleased he's improving

I’m not displeased that he’s got it in him to help Celtic on occasion, I’m displeased that there’s a reliance on him because the board didn’t buy another winger (or striker allowing Daizen to remain on the wing) in January, particularly within the context of Forrest being out injured.

I don’t think he’s improving at all, his best game in a Celtic jersey was the 6 nil home game against the sheep last season. Last night was a cameo in comparison.

Unless we want Bonnar being the fifth winger at the club (someone said he is a winger), then Yang is perfectly fine as that fifth choice overall.

He's getting better all the time. He tormented that Bayern defence during his cameo.

I like him, unlike Mikey Johnson, he's actually got end product with goals and assists, and is not injury prone.

    He's a keeper for me.

That's a stretch saying he's got goals and assists..

He's been better but his end product has been nothing short of diabolical since coming in..

Mikey Johnston was much better in the final third in full flow, much....and he had some shockers and a jersey that was way too big for him..

MJ had much more end product. Yang has a long way to go to make up for his huge lack of goals and assists so far. And I think saying he 'tormented' Bayern is a big exaggeration.

To be fair to him, has has looked better the past few games...

Except his cameo away in Munich - he was like a man down, brainlessly trying to dribble past 3 BM players deep in his own half and giving the ball away in a dangerous position. I really believe we would have taken it to extra time if Forest had been able to come on instead of Yang.

I absolutely love the wee * and think he has something worth tapping into. Whether he makes it with us I don't know but he deserves all the chances

He is a baby in football terms considering his national service.

If anyone can turn him into a world class winger, Brendan Rodgers can.

Mikey had some shockers alright, no worse than when he played No.9 against the Huns at Ibrox.
Not wishing to go off topic and derail the thread, I would rather have Yang than Mikey in my team when the chips were down.
Mikey was so bad, Lenny finally lost the rag with him :giggle1:

If he was to keep up this productive phase until the end of the season? I would very much expect him to be here next season. He is a Brendan Rodgers player and the manager will be relishing polishing him up.

There is no denying he has added end product on the last couple of months. Even his positioning off the ball is night and day from the last 18 months.

Even we he laid it off the other night he was on the move right beside Daizen.

I thought he was excellent when he came on, looked really bright and positive in his play, goal was well worked, gotta cut the dude some slack and give credit where it's due.

As mentioned he might not make it long term, but at least he's trying.

Watch the last two goals. He was pretty much the main man in both. Give and goes, bursting into space. Even when he laid it off for Daizens seconds he made the front post for the final pass.

I think he has something and I think the manager knows it too.
