    Had some shocking moments tonight.

It was right to not sub him as he looks low on confidence for whatever reason, but I'd be giving him a break next game as think he's feeling the demands of so much gametime.

I'd be resting him at the weekend, same with Hatate and Kuhn, he looks shattered to me.

No harm giving Scales a game or two.

There's times i look at him and think he's assured, then other times he just looks a disaster waiting to happen, still not entirely convinced with him tbh.

He's oddly much better in Europe than domestically.

Not he's been bad domestically, few bad games and one or two average ones, I'd say he's been good, but he's been outstanding in Europe. Fantastic away to Atalanta, good against Villa then fantastic home and away to Bayern

Hopefully he's able to find that extra bit of consistency, I do think his performance is the last two games are moreso down to fatigue though tbh.

Never been fully sold tbh, starting to think he'll be where Scales finds himself, rotation

    Think a back four of....

    Johnston CCV KT Schlupp

May be the first choice back four next season

I find it funny that CCVs thread is never bumped as often.

He had a few dodgy moments tonight too and has been very loose in possession.

They both look a bit knackered. Trusty hasn't suddenly became useless after being excellent in Europe post BVB and contributing to nearly breaking a clean sheet record domestically.

New players like Trusty wont be used to the physical and mental demands here. 2 MUST WIN, MUST PERFORM games week in week out.

Plys there is quite a mental strain moving clubs with new teammates, new club, new city, new boss etc.

They may be big fellas but theyre essentially kids.

I think * be a big player for us, this time next year.

Maybe the European game suits him better than the cut and thrust of Scottish fitbaw.

Thought he looked shaky tonight. Looks to me like he doesn't want the ball, CCV is limited on the ball too but he's able to bring it forward and hold guys off if there's no pass immediately available whereas I feel like Trusty can be pressed into losing possession or committing a foul. Maybe he's like Boyata and Starfelt (who actually ended up fine at it) and just wants to defend and be in the trenches rather than build the play from the back.

Very limited on the ball and getting caught out too often.

He goes through these phases but we know how well he can perform, it’s just down to concentration. CCV is the same as well, just too casual at times but both have massive for us.

Kelvin Wilson sometimes struggled with the physicality of scottish football but seemed to be unreal in Europe. Seems Trusty is the same. Think we can definitely upgrade but acknowledge how good he's been in Europe this year

I am not convinced that Trusty is the partner for CCV going forwards. He is too weak, too many mistakes and misjudgments and is * at heading too.
Offensively I think he is poor when playing out. Doesn’t pass the ball as well as Scales or CCV.

He's definitely not '*' at heading come on mate.

The way you've described him there it's as if he literally can't do anything right.

He's not * at heading no but multiple times this season he can easily direct a header towards one of our players (Engels flapped his arms about at Trusty for doing this last night) Just seems to still have the Sheffield United mentality of 'anywhere will do'. Just a wee bit more composure needed for me (CCV guilty of it also). Very nitpicky but I've been banging on this drum about it for a while :56:

I literally just posted this in the CCV thread so definitely agree. They both seem bad for it.

I do like Trusty but sometimes looks quite awkward on the ball. CCV had one or two dodgy moments last night but it's difficult to get everything absolutely 100 percent right. He's many times more assured than Trusty is. I'd give Scales a start on Saturday and let Trusty have a rest.

I think regardless we definitely need another CB in the summer and one who can ideally properly bring the ball out from defence. I don't think any we have are amazing at it.

Not gonna be easy to scout but it's got to be the target.
