What is it with him wanting a million touches in the box when the shots on?

It’s not really my style to be overly negative about a player but I genuinely hope he leaves in the summer. We can do a lot better than him.

I've been pretty harsh on him this season but he's been decent recently. Worked his * * off on Tuesday night too.

When he's good he is really good but it doesn't happen often enough he always seems to want a fortnight on the ball anytime he receives it

On his day our best midfielder easily.

At 27 I'd imagine he sees this summer as the time to move on and it probably makes sense for all.

    Far too casual.

Your just waiting on him getting robbed of possession or playing a loose pass in our own half to put us in trouble. Constantly puts fear in to me whenever he has the ball anywhere near our box.

Hes one id be happy enough to see go in the summer bcoz i think a good replacement would improve us but i struggle to see where he would go or us getting the kind if money wed likely want

He's playing like someone who's already got his coat on, and standing by the door... He'll go for good money still, because what he's got is clear to anyone who scouts him properly, but he's blowing his chances for the really good moves, and in turn he's gonna bring us in less too

This kind of chat about him I don’t really get. McGregor is head and shoulders above him. He’s so nonchalant, gives the ball away quite a bit and often gets dispossessed by not being urgent enough. Not to mention his shooting being well off it this season.

I don’t think he’s a bad player but we can do better and he infuriates me so much when I watch us.

I said On his day, meaning if everyone is on top form I still think Hatate is the biggest difference maker we have in there.

I don't deny he's slack and frustrating but we've all seen him at his best. He's very very good. Is my point.

When he's on it he's arguably our best player at times, but he's never shown it consistently, the whole time he's been here it's peaks and valleys, if he was always doing it he'd have been away for a big money deal by now, glad to have him but so frustrating at the same time.

I agree he can be very good but so can Engels and Cal and I wouldn’t say Hatate’s best is any better than theirs personally. Also how often is Hatate on his game? It’s so rare these days. I think we would be better off without him. Would snap the hand off anyone offering 15m+ for sure.

I'm with Slaw on this one. On his day McGregor is our best and most influential midfielder.

He may not be as creative as Hatate but he absoltely runs games at his best.

Aye but that's no my point. It's a hypothetical situation. If he's on it then he's top class.

Again I've said I'd happily sacrifice him this summer so don't entirely disagree but think we also need to be careful what we wish for.

    That's fair.

As I've said it's a completely hypothetical situation anyway. But I think some underrate Hatate.

Indeed. In fact, for me, we already have better at his position. What we really need is a DM.

See I think the opposite, I’d find it hard to think of a more overrated Celtic player. I think a lot of it comes down to the impact he made in that derby game under the lights right after he signed.

I’m not claiming that’s all he’s ever done for Celtic and he’s a bad player, I just feel like he gets lauded far too much and really deserves far more criticism.

Anyway, I don’t enjoy * on Celtic players I just feel like that’s a position in our team we can upgrade on in the summer.

I wouldn't be against trying Schlupp in midfield, think he could have done a job there with Bernado out, and who I think we have missed recently.

I'm in the same boat as @Slaw I think Hatate is as overated as anything, that derby game under the lights seems to have elevated him to untouchable heights I agree, he's been very hit and miss ever since, and I would be looking to move him on in the summer, hopefully for top dollar, and get someone with the physique and pace of Schlupp in his place.

On his day, blah, blah....getting boring now. As soon as that starts getting spouted about a player you know it's time to get rid. And this was getting spouted a year ago.

He can be incredible and a joy to watch on his day, but both him and Calmac on their day, at top form, I still would say Calmac there. But Hatate when he is, is one of those players that make you remember why you love football.

Hatate today I don’t think was a big issue, he wasn’t particularly bad there’s a list of worse performances ahead of him. Wednesday devastated him, he was in a state after the game, I think we wouldn’t have seen him play at all if we weren’t as shockingly bad as we were first half and 2 down. He was one of many who did, but he looked drained. Most of the team did. Greg Taylor looked stroppy, and was probably one of two who didn’t look mentally shattered. The other was AJ, who was the only player on it today. At least until Maeda moved up front, and joined in. And Jota/Schlupp as well. But first half we didn’t have that. And that’s why we had to put Hatate on, I think he was on the bench for emergency only and then it was that for us.
