He's 100% worth having around... truly a Mooy-esq presence within the squad and option for the 11.

Having someone of his ilk around whilst KT returns would be * incredible because we don't know if KT will be able to stay fit, so having Schlupp here arguably being our starter at LB whilst KT is given chance to readjust and get up to fitness would be the best we can ask for.

Boy was I wrong about Schlupp, at first I just didn't see why we bothered... good thing I'm just a * on a forum and not running a football club

We were just chatting to Jeffrey Schlupp who was giving an insight into his 90 minutes and how frantic it was. For you, him coming in so soon but to have slotted in so seamlessly into that, what does that say about the player that he is?

Yeah and the professionalism. He fits what we do here which is the reason why we brought him.

I'd obviously spoken to Jeff in the summer with an idea of bringing him here then and then it worked out that we couldn't get him here. There was a possibility that Kieran Tierney was coming back so we left it late. But obviously when that was the case he definitely wasn't able to come back then Jeff was my first port of call really.

You can see he has fantastic attributes, his physicality in the game. I thought he was brilliant the other night having to get through the game like he did.

He was absolutely superb in the game. He settled in really well. He's only been here a few weeks but he's settling into the rhythm of the team which takes a bit of time.

Just getting the feel for a team that's having the ball a lot of the time and the movement patterns within that. But also defensively he was really strong against his former teammate. So yeah, I was so pleased for Jeff.

He's a good guy. He's come here, fit in very easily and very well.

Would you like to have a conversation to prolong his stay?

We'll speak throughout our time here and communicate and we'll see what develops

They ask him about next season in a sneaky way, regarding the Champions League. He answers it in a very media trained way. No hinting to whether he wants to be here.

Celtic left-back Jeffrey Schlupp has revealed what Vincent Kompany told him after his side's 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.

Brendan Rodgers' men led 1-0 on the night until Alphonso Davies popped up in the dying embers to draw the hosts level and resultantly send them into the last 16 of the Champions League.

While Celtic were left heartbroken at the final whistle, their performance has gained wisespread plaudits.

Bayern manager Kompany was particularly impressed, and post-match, he told Schlupp exactly what he thought of Celtic: "Obviously, in the press after the game and stuff, you know, everyone was just obviously congratulating us," said the Crystal Palace loanee.

The players when we were coming off the pitch, their manager was just saying how great we'd done and how proud we should be of ourselves, we gave them a game in both legs. Any other night, it could have been the completely other way around.

"Just in general from everyone around the place, everyone was obviously saying how well we'd done. We got so close to getting a win on the night and then maybe forcing it to extra time, anything could have happened again. Everyone was full of praise, which was nice."

Celtic have every right to be proud of their European exploits this season, although their full attention now turns back to the domestic scene.

First up is a trip to face Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership this weekend as they aim to maintain their 13-point lead at the top of the table.

The Scottish Cup is still to play for, too, as Rodgers' men look to complete a clean sweep

He's twice the player that Taylor is and I'm sure he's not even 100% fit yet

Yeah he’s a massive improvement on Taylor and I’ve been one of Taylor’s biggest defenders. His physicality just adds so much. I doubt we will see much more of Taylor for the rest of the season. It’s Schlupp’s jersey.

I don't think we lose if he starts tbh.

I get why Rodgers started Taylor, but Schlupp made a massive difference coming on.
