Hearts not making the knockout rounds, has damaged the league's coefficiency massively.

No one else picking up any points apart from us and the huns.

    Embarrassing.

I massively fear this too, there has been evidence in the last two summers of even with CL money waiting to sell a big player before actually pushing ahead with deals. Also going back further we used to try hang on to guys with one foot out the door and play them in qualifiers which is risky too.

This coming year in particular we have that buffer of a very strong trading year this year and the last two. I would like to see us make a step change to being proactive and getting bodies in early. Tierney being signed is a good start but if we still want Kvistgaarden or whoever the striker target was get them in, if Hatate is going get it done and have a replacement in, etc. I know there are a lot of factors etc but others do manage to do it.

Yeah Hearts getting put out the Conference League after winning their first two games was a shambles and has really cost Scotland. Even if they won that last game, they would have likely had a winnable tie in the knockout round and would have got some bonus points too.

Imperative we qualify again and continue to do so.

Every ounce of focus should be on that 2 legged tie. Probably talking about what £50m once everything is included each season.

Thanks to the conference league belgium still have all 5 teams going and have rocketed up the coefficient table.

Cyprus a country you'd never view as a threat still have 3 teams in it and could potentially catch us in a season or 2.

Our rival countries like Poland, Austria, Denmark, Turkey and Greece are all still benefitting from it leaving our auto qualification hopes ever returning nigh impossible, us and the huns would have to make the quarter or semi finals of every tournament every year to keep up.

We need at least 1 of hearts, hibs and Aberdeen to do something but the fact all 3 are * is only going to hurt us in europe in the very near future.

It's the other Scottish teams mentality and to a more longer historicaly poor coaching to an extent that cost us.

Smaller leagues * on our other euro places and they need to get it sorted.

The 5 home games prolly added around 15-18million in ticket sales or so alone. Loved the new setup for the competition and as others have said.... ensuring that we are there again in the group stages next year has to be the prime drive for us going forward.

Cannot be complacent in that qualifying tie, but * me I can't remember us going into UCL qualifiers in a stronger looking position.

See what the summer brings in terms of investment and player sales. But if we're sensible and we back the manager, he'll get the job done.

I’m not expecting us to lose in Qualifying, considering the teams we are possibly up against so far.

But it we lose that game I take it we drop to Europa?

Aye, we shouldn't even consider selling anyone important until after that tie..

    Yep.

And every year following as well. As said, with developments potentially across the city its crucial we keep the boot on their throat. Qualifying for the UCL allows us to do that and maintains any distance.

Would love us to go for it after success of this season.

Problem I see is, the board won't push the boat out anymore than they did this season with spends on guys like Idah and Engels.

Assuming we qualify, I fully expect the board to be way too cautious with spending more next season because they will sit the "we can't guarantee the same results, the league phase draw could be so different, so spending more than what we already have last season is too risky for something we can't control"

Can't really see us losing anyone in the summer. Think they all need another season in the CL before we'll get offered big money. Which should stand us in good stead for the CL qualifier.

If we can keep Schlupp, bring in KT and add a bit of steel in the middle of the park I think we'll be looking very good.

I think we will do well to keep ahold of Kuhn and Maeda.

    Hatate I expect to go.

Seen who we we can get, it's either Slovan, Basel, Qarabag, Ludogorets or Strum Graz.

We would beat Slovan and Ludogorets very comfortably. Ludogorets are a complete shell of what they used to be. I think we'd beat Qarabag over two legs fairly comfortably but the away trip would be brutal.

We'd be heavy favourties against Basel and Strum too, but would rather one of the other 3.

I'd fancy us against any of those sides with how we are now..

This isn't the Celtic of old. We've got a very healthy side, a top coach and loads that know what it takes/or have had the taste of big games in Europe now..

I would fancy us but I don't think it would be a walk in the park against any of them.
