From what I’ve seen I wouldn’t be paying over 10 million for him so if that has been the sticking point I can fully understand why we’ve told them where to go.

They are extorting us because they know we want him to replace Kyogo, plain and simple.

    There’s other options out there.

So he wanted to come to celtic but brondy blocked him "had to be convinced to stay" tells me he is a very good professional.

Mathias Kvistgaarden was also a name high on the agenda at Celtic Park going into the final hours of the window with Brondby revealing they knocked back deadline day bids from the Premiership leaders. Football director Benjamin Schmedes has now hinted that the Dane had to be convinced to stay with the club until the end of the campaign

He told Viaplay: "I don't want to talk about specific offers, but it's no secret that we have some exciting players. Also for some bigger leagues and clubs. Of course, there was some work for us to persuade some people to stay, but I think everyone can be satisfied with being here, including the players, now that we have a big spring season ahead of us."

BBC gossip (football insider) reporting Celtic already working on summer move.

Aye right - assuming rumours true, we've been 'working on the move' for last 3 windows, whilst gradually allowing the price to increase from £7M to a likely £15M - nice work!

Just scored for Brondby after 3 minutes. I think there will be German teams hovering when the summer window opens.

This is exactly what was going to happen tbh.

Said already if he scores another 10 his price isn't gonna decrease. Still hope we can get him.

You want him to score tho, to prove his worth..

It's a catch 22 tho eh.. I've always felt he's been eyeing up a move that's not us..

Well, if we pay ~£12M for a player that's already proven themselves over 2 seasons consistently versus pumping up ~£8M on a gamble you could argue it's a safer transfer... :39:

Tricky one to gauge, as we all want the finished article for prospect transfer fee, but it's just not often the reality nowadays...

Hope we go in ASAP and get him.

Never realised Suzuki also plays for Brondby (we were linked in the past). He scored a lovely goal.

That was some goal he finished at the weekend. I hope we go and get him in during the summer, he is a talented player and I think his versatility would be a big asset. You could have had him on instead of Yang last night.

I also think having a mobile and flexible centre forward like Kvistgaarden with Kuhn, Jota and Maeda wide coming in and changing positions.

Just wondering what we are hoping to achieve by waiting till summer?
Identifying a different target perhaps? Hoping they are going to lower asking price?

I know business is usually done in the windows. I think it's just a tradition or out of respect towards the other club so we don't rock the boat.

I'd * that off and start feelers with Brondby.

We need to start doing things differently to try get ahead of other suitors.

This guy is a must in the summer along with the Norwegian winger. There's no reason why we can't. But then there was no reason why we couldn't in January... Or last summer.

It's a bit like trying to get someone to sell something before the auction... They're not against it, but won't do business for the lowest asking price for the auction.

Clubs who get stuff done out with the windows tend to drop prices that make it financially more positive for the selling club than the extra gained by leaving them in the shop window - maybe you get a player valued at around £8M for £8-9M if it takes most of the window, but get them in day 1 if you bid £10M straight up, with good terms. It's a 25% premium for the rapid turnaround, but only worth it if you're ABSOLUTELY SURE the players are the right ones for your plans.

We tend to never offer more than we value players at initially and to move for other players instead

Might be some sort of agreement it price to this but was only doable for the summer?

No sure but just sounds like Brondby were never willingly doing business in January..
