You said yourself it was a negative ffs.

I get the narrative of the board all being * but that performance last night was * excellent, best I've seen in donkeys and is a real pointer that we're moving in the right direction. Forget about the board and just * enjoy it.

there is no doubt we played well but I get no enjoyment from being put out. We had 3 unused subs last night the players had ran themselves into the ground and we hadn't the quality on the bench to maintain it. We could have got more out of the tie

Same here, gutted to not go through, all it would have taken was some fresh legs and am confident we would have gotten over the line. Overall, it was squad that let us down, I was even saying to bring on Taylor and Luke into the midfield, they are not gamechangers but they would have provided fresh legs to get after them, get a few tackles in, our midfielders were just done in.

All the German press are blaming our ‘clumsy’ strikers for not finishing off Bayern Munich in Munich.
They said that Bayern didn’t deserve to be in Last 16.
Also said that Celtic came of age in Champions League and just need to improve the squad to proceed further.
    Quite right on all counts.
Biscuit tin mentality from the board cost us again.

You've got to be realistic though mate. I agree that had we another 2 or 3 quality players on the bench it could have kept us in the game, but going through is another matter.

I think the progress is there for all to see and hopefully next year we see further progress, which I'm sure we will. Establishing ourselves as a hard to beat, competitive champions league team, consistently getting good results is the aim and I think the signs are good.

Imo this is the best team we've had in years. I want to be part of the champions league, but it's a shame there isn't a drop down anymore because genuinly we'd be one of the favourites to lift the europa were that good.

If we were in the Europa, we'd be one of the favourites.

Huns finishing 8th tells you all you need to know about the drop off in levels in that competition.

Think Luke should have got some mins at the end

But Was wondering if we had Odin and Bernardo they'd have been good enough to be brought on but then again Odin has the attitude problem so wouldn't have been on the bench.

Can we add more quality and not lose the quality we have hmmm we've been in this position quite a few times before I can recall hopefully this the start of something and not our pinnacle again

Bit late to the party with my thoughts on this game.

We were outstanding and demonstrated everything we’ve been crying out for in our European performances.

Organised, controlled, composed, working as a unit, no daft mistakes or risk taking.

We were the better side by a mile. For all their possession, we were the team who carried more of a threat and created the better chances.

Looking at the starting 11 before the game, it’s probably the strongest XI we have fielded in a game of the magnitude for a long time.

The letdown was the bench. Littered with youth players and back up players who are fine domestically but miles off it in Europe.

That needs to be the focus for next year. Getting more quality and depth into the squad and keeping the current crop together. We can 100% go further and I think Rodgers and the squad will have the appetite for that after Tuesday night.
