There's quite a few that are "bigger" but I really enjoyed calibre.

Whisky Galore! (Even the remake isn't bad, but was primarily referring to the original)
    Gregory's Girl
    Trainspotting
    The Outrun
    The Match

Does Highlander, Braveheart or Rob Roy count?

Would have to go Gregorys girl. So much charm it's untrue. And the scene with his dad doing the driving lesson is hilarious

    Forgot to mention these. :50:

Along with the rest of Ken Loach's filmography should be just about essential viewing.

I liked ‘Sweet Sixteen’ got an emotional attachment to it,remember seeing them shooting some scenes around town..there was a lot of excitement about it all.Martin Compston had no acting experience before it and has went on to have a great career.

’Just a Boys Game’ and ‘Elephants Graveyard’ also set in Greenock, don’t know if they’re classed as movies strictly but really brilliant viewing regardless.

Sweet Sixteen is one of the realest Scottish movies I've ever seen. Compston was fantastic in it but so was everyone else.

That is probably the best portrayal of working class life I've seen. Scottish or otherwise

Haha no danger. Just started Sweet Sixteen again. The copper that Compston steals the polis helmet from right at the start is Boaby the Barman :giggle1:

I was one of Tongs. Was in the nightclub scene, I was the last face on screen when we chased the bus after Kevin got shot with the air gun and I was to the left of Kevin McKidd when we dragged Gorbals back over the edge of the building.

A couple of us actually had lunch with Kevin that day and he was on a diet for his junkie Tommy scenes in trainspotting.
