Nah I know what you mean.

I was using chrome softs for ages and even putting aside seemed to be getting more distance etc. I then switched to cheaper baws in the form of Wilson staffs and I've played * since. Maybe a coincidence to be fair:56:

Fwiw, I play with a Wilson Bucktown Infinite putter, fang style mallet. I put a superstroke 2.0 grip on it and love it.

    Had it years now.

The scotty i have is a mallet aye. That's all I'd heard is get one of those not a blade as it's more forgiving etc but no that sure.

I do agree there's a big mental part to it, I'd say it's the same with a lot of aspects of the game.

The triple track gets really good reviews.

See when you see * putting with hybrids or 7i's for a laugh, then you should know really that you can put with anything, as it's about 80-90% mentality.

I like the thick grips (quiet at the back).

I think that's another issue. The scotty comes with the thin standard grip which I don't think has helped me.

I prefer it thin, for (keep your mind out of the gutter) I like to feel the shaft between my hands.

I’ve finished a few rounds putting with my wedge after the putter wasn’t behaving and got the treatment.

It is but certain putters will make a difference still.

It's no surprise most PGA pros use either odysser or spider putters. Think it's 60%+ all use them.

There's also plenty of stats to show that outside 10ft even the very best in the world will struggle. So whilst aye irs mental you also then need to judge the green, sloping etc as well as having confidence that the putter style works for you.

Yeah I find thicker one has definitely helped me.

Bear with me on this, one day on the practice green, I was putting with my mitts on, and it was great, thought logic would have it that a jumbo grip would be cool....

Tried it for 2 rounds and swiftly * it right back off. Brutal.

I have an image of you with massive mits (quiet again) and a big thick grip cutting about :56:

I got a shot of my mate's odyssey putter and honestly it felt absolutely no different to a spare two-ball dunlop putter I have.

I play with an aul' pinseeker balata king putter, for some reason I prefer the feel of it.

What do you make of the big long broomstick putters? Adam Scott and Akshay Bhatia on the tour use them I think. Looks a bit mental.

    Surprised its actually legal.

IV seen them and look weird the two griped ones especially it must be really awkward to use probably the reason why so may stick with standard there must be something in it tho,

Putter might be the least technologically improved club year on year but I changed from a spider mini mallet to an old odyssey half mallet recently and it made so much difference. I now feel I can hit my line 90% of the time whereas before I'd have a two way miss even on short putts.

Can't do the chunky grips though, lose all feel on the pace control.
