I've mentioned it before but his exasperated / moany face when he plays irrationally bothers me.

Ability wise he's good, nothing more.

The incessant inverting is annoying though. The cup final it was killing us. 2nd half he stayed wider and it was much better. Time and a place.

I won't tear him to bits as he's had some great moments but I won't miss him if/when he goes..

:39: If any player consistently displays what I think to be poor behaviour or bad traits, I’m going to say so. No different than anyone else on this forum in that way. My patience is stretched really thin with him, is all. Hardly shocking.

I have no issue with you personally mate, and I’ve enjoyed conversations with you in the past. I just don’t know what you expect out of dredging this back up and digging me out over it.
It’s hardly like I’m going to apologise for what might be an unpopular opinion with some people. :56:There are literally three or more threads on here based on that very idea.
Certainly not going to do so in response to this sort of silly witch hunt. Just agree to disagree. Smh.

But, but he makes the odd hospital visit, so we have to turn a blind eye to all that. :87:

I find it cringe as * watching people fall over themselves to stick up for him, just because plenty of us don't rate him whatsoever....and for good reason. It was toe curling watching our manager doing it no long ago as well..

Aye, I don't particularly rate a left back who's weak, tiny, painfully slow, can't defend to save his life, can't header, can barely win a 50/50 and sometimes 70/30's in his favour, can't overlap, plays the ball out of play or back when pressed loads, square passes when he inverts to the opposition, is targeted by anyone of any quality, struggles taking throw ins and has to run and gallop to get it 10 yards up the park, looks like he's blowing out his * by half hour..

Aye he's had some lovely passes over the top and performances in his time but his use of the ball overall is criminally overrated for me..

Good luck to the guy elsewhere. Roll on KT in the summer..

He would have been a fine squad player I think. Like a Ralston or a Scales. Think he became accustomed to having little competition for his place but lacked the consistency of performance to really own the position though. Id be fine keeping him as a squad option to rotate with Tierney but if hes not prepared to accept that then best to move on.

He's been a decent servant for us but I've always felt that we could and should be doing better. Having Tierney back is better than I ever expected but even if it wasn't him, I'm worried about how badly we struggled to replace even some of his attributes in that position.

Him and Taylor are polar opposites which hasn't always hampered us but just feel like we are only now replacing Tierney....with Tierney:giggle1:

We've needed some aggression, pace and ability to overlap on that side for some time.

I'd still have him here as back up. But I struggle to understand how some cannot see his glaring deficiencies. Even yesterday one of their only real chances comes through him getting bullied off Glenn Middleton.

If I said it loads we need better and I'm over the moon KT is coming back.. early signs with Schlupp are positive too..

However, I just think some of the personal stuff about him as person or his character are totally unfounded..

He's a winner and has incredible determination, even if he is limited in other ways..

Probably best for him actually if he moves on..

Maybe I just have a soft spot for * LBs.. :56:

As I've always said, Taylor wasn't good enough the minute he walked in the door. Can you remember the disappointment, I can. To his credit he's been passable domestically but a continuous weak spot in Europe. Don't lose sleep over losing Taylor guys, when it really boils down to it he's bang average and we can do so much better.

Its just time for him to move on. Who does he think he is demanding elite player wages from Celtic?
He is in same basket as the likes of Ralston and Scales for me.
There is nobody going to offer him 25K a week.
Hes gotten too big for his boots demanding those wages.
Initially, I was thinking a new contract with a modest pay rise but now, I just feel its time to move on from Gregg.
Even now, with KT on board, and we are forced to play Gregg in an important CL game, we are back to square one.
Happy to start next season with KT and Jeff, rather than KT and GT.

I agree because It seems like he wants a new challenge and in general I think most people are of the thought that when a player wants to leave we should usually let them go, so aye it's the right time for him to move on.

Tierney will be a big upgrade and I'm looking forward to it, I like Tierney a lot more as a player. But there are so many comments that are stupidly wide of the mark regarding his ability. When he does leave the truth will be that he was a great signing for us who performed well consistently, far more often than he didn't.

    Fair enough, mate. :50:

By the time he leaves he'll have 5 league titles to his name, minimum of 6 domestic cups and potentially a 7th come May. Well over 200 appearances and a first team regular for pretty much his entire time here, and a genuine POTY candidate in at least two seasons. Whatever happens he'll be able to look back on his time with us with great pride. :)

Lads if yous want to have a go at each other about this please take it to PM or even set up a thread in the pub I'm not even arsed. Might actually be entertaining.

But please stop filling this and any other threads with insults and spam.

I had to bring out the bolded text for the first time in ages fs.

It's more the fact he's taken the huff coz he genuinely believes he should be a 1st choice pick at a club like Celtic.
Needs a serious reality check. It's only due to * poor recruitment that he's been a starter for so long, he's the very definition of average.

I don't have a problem with Taylor, he gives 100% when he plays and that's all you can ask from any player.

That being said I don't think he is good enough for us but that's not his fault, that is down to those that scouted him, recruited him, gave him the contract(s) and then constantly pick him to play even when they know his weaknesses. For me they are more deserving of the abuse he gets than the player himself.

Whatever offer Celtic have put on the table should be taken off, just seen the difference a proper LB can make.
Chalk and cheese. And best of luck getting 25K a week.
