Bit light for rotation in midfield.

    Schmeichel
    Ralston CCV Scales Schlupp
    McGregor McCowan Engels
    Yang Idah Jota

Hopefully get a decent lead by ht and can rotate Trusty for CCV, get McGregor and Engels off and Jota as well. Hoping for Kenny to get at least half an hour.

Wonder if he would stuck Schlupp in that dm role at some point so McGregor can get a rest.

The last time United won at Celtic Park...

It was Boxing Day, 26 December 1992.

It was still the crumbling old Celtic Park, Liam Brady was the manager, and the Old Board were trying to sell the idea of moving Celtic to Cambuslang.

The Celtic team that day was:

Packy Bonner, Tommy Boyd, Mark McNally, Tony Mowbray, Mike Galloway, John Collins, Paul McStay, Joe Miller, Andy Payton, Gerry Creaney and Stuart Slater, with Rudi Vata & Peter Grant on the bench.

The UK number 1 movie was The Muppets Christmas Carol.
The UK number 1 song was still 'I Will Always Love You' by Whitnet Houston.
And the first George Bush was still the US President.

Since that day, the UK has had 9 PMs and Celtic have had 14 F/T managers (& 4 Interum ones), Scottish Football has supposedly been 'restructured' 3 times since then. The Good Friday agreement has seen relative 'peace' in Northern Ireland in 1997 and the first Scottish Parliament would not sit until 1999. Virtually noone had even heard of the Internet, while the few bulky mobile phones were an extreme rarity and a pint of Guinness cost £1.29. Noone had heard of Al Qaeda, EBT's, Brexit or Covid, and the first Euro banknotes and coins would still be 10 years away.

    Just putting it into context.

Tomorrow will be the 50th time that a United side will have visited since then. (D12 L37)

For what it is worth, the longest 'drought without a win' at Celtic Park for any visiting side is that Killie did not win at Parkhead between 1957-2011, for a total of 64 visits without a win.

With Bernardo out, I'd start Engels.

Would be brilliant if we all went on Pointless and all won.
That hun supporting * Alexander Armstrong would be really * off if we kept winding him up by asking which team he supports Deadco or Sevco

Grand old team to play for
We have a few defenders that could maybe help out in midfield if we're well up and want to rest a midfielder or 2 for the last half hour. Would make sense for Schlupp to fill in, but I think I'd prefer him to get 60 mins at LB. GT would be fine in midfield and Ralston or Scales could maybe do a job - both have played as inverted full backs before.

Iwata would have come in handy with Bernardo out for a few weeks.

Pretty much agree with this. Reo for Engles at HT, move Jeff into Cals slot at the hour mark with Taylor on at LB. Khun and Maeda on for last half hour, along with Kenny.
We are very thin on the ground with midfielders, maybe not so clever to release Holm with no cover brought in. Just wondering if we have any of the kids that could cover?

Turley probably first in line, would like to see Kyle Ure get his debut at some point too. Both of them played the full 90 against RB Leipzig in the Youth CL on Wednesday.

Let's start with as strong a line up as possible, hopefully ensure we are comfortable and then bring on our subs. We all know United will line up in the same way as they did the last couple of games we played them and both of them were a bit of a struggle. So, let's just get the job done today and Wednesday will take care of itself.

    Should be total domination today.

Goodwin doesn't usually come to CP and set up to get anything out of the game other than a hail mary draw, so plenty of positivity today from the players.

Keep up the momentum, give oor Daiz a break, as well as Callum.

    I'd go with:

    Kasper

    Ralston CCV Scales Taylor

    Engles Reo McCowan

    Yang Idah Jota
