‘Celtic winger Daizen Maeda is free to face Bayern Munich in Wednesday's Champions League play-off first leg after a two-match ban was reduced.

The Japanese international was sent off for kicking out at an opponent in the win over Young Boys and missed the following defeat at Aston Villa.

Celtic lodged an appeal against the initial punishment and broke the news of their success on Monday evening.

Maeda, 27, has scored 21 goals for Celtic this season, including a hat-trick in Saturday's Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers.’

I would go with Khun Maeda in the middle and Jota on the left wing, after all its a home tie, so would like to see us have a real cut at this. Only issue, is Maeda on the wing offers that layer of protection for the vulnerable Taylor.

Fantastic news about Maeda, I didn’t even realise we’d appealed it!
We should definitely play him on the left.
Taylor’s gonna need all the protection he can get!

I’ve no idea what will happen in this tie in all honesty.

I just can’t see our midfield giving the defence any serious protection.

McGregor will start, I’d be tempted to put Schlupp to his left and Engels on his right.

I think both have legs and both capable of putting through balls to runners. Maeda - Idah - Kuhn all making runs and trying to dine off the passes.

That’s how I would try and play for most of the game to keep it tight. Make sure we’re not getting hopelessly caught out on turnovers.

If it’s tight after 65-70 mins you can bring on Hatate and switch Maeda into the centre and bring on Jota.

They play an extremely high line. If we are going to win that's the only way we will. Not by playing through or around but right over the top of them in my opinion.

At times they can have only the 2 CBs left in their own half so there has to be a use of a long ball or running the channels. Can't be afraid to do that. If we try and play out constantly we will be destroyed.

My dream- near anti football from us, keep it 0-0 - hit them on break for a 1-0 home victory. For the away leg in Munich, total anti football from Brendan- a match so boring that my heart rate actually lets me take the occasion in and we draw 0-0.
I am open to who we draw in last 16!
