His technique is sublime. His touch and then ball across the goal for Maeda’s hatrick was outstanding. The finish for his goal was ridiculous technique too.

He is exactly what we need and the type of player and the level of quality we need for someone to step in and give the players ahead of them a break.

He is the level we should be aiming for when we talk about strength in depth. We're never going to get another Tierney to compete for the left back spot. We should be aiming for a McCowan level player to step in to give Tierney a break next season when needed.

That should be what we're doing for all areas of the park.

He's been a good signing. Just fits us so well.

He’s that sweet spot of being very good for Celtic but knowing his role and not getting much interest from others. Griffiths, Taylor, Mulgrew etc.

    He’s doing great.

Should be starting the big games imo. McGregor McCowan Engels with Hatate and Bernardo impacting off the bench.

Doesn’t have the physicality for a higher level which is why he won’t ever be a starter for us. It’s burned into my brain Yilmaz/Jefte tearing away from him at Ibrox and he was just on. Was actually borderline embarrassing.

He’s not near Hatate…. Yet. Hatate is a level up.

Physicality and stamina are training issues... But long term ones... It'd probably be next year to really see the impact on those, if that's actually what the coaches are baking into him.

On another note, he reminds me of Ralston in terms of his effort and just how much it all means for him to get the hoops on and play. Might never get the peak of talent like others, but you'll always get 100% of what they have to offer...

Based on that game, none of our players could play at a higher level. Which we know isn't true.

I think McCowan quite clearly has more levels in him

The wee man could see out his career here and put up some serious numbers. I think he will always be more of a squad player but christ he’s good.

Gotta be honest, I think he's a grand/great wee player right now, and that given his attitude and prime age we've kinda got him on the ground floor for us right now, so none of us really know what heights he can get to... Nothing about him worries me, and I reckon with continuous training and development we'll probably get the true idea of his potential in the middle of NEXT season... Hopefully! :56:

At 27 I can't see him leaving us unless we push, something in the injury area affects him or we get a big bid for him. You can see on his face the absolute joy he's experiencing every time he scores, and by his efforts that every time he pulls on the jersey he's well into it...
