Aye, but USG are one of Brighton’s feeder/partner clubs, so I wonder how much this signing will have been data-driven. Probably more like just a shrewd use of contacts.

They all use the same system so I think it would be I think signings will come into hearts if they are good move onto usg then from their Brighton and likewise if player from usg can’t break into usg side they will move to hearts

USG use the same system but no longer have Bloom involved with the club. He bought a minority stake but has either decreased it further or sold it all now.

USG are very good at recruiting undervalued players and making them a success in Belgium before selling them on for good money.

I suspect there will be some linkages or if they use the same analytics, there may be some tie in but alternatively how cheap USG pick up players there might be competition there too.

Bloom had to sell a chunk of stake because of the uefa competition rules and Brighton getting into Europe it will be one of his patsys that owns the stake

A player I think we should be looking at to come in during the summer, particularly if Hatate was to move on, is Benjamin Nygren, who is out of contract at Nordsjaelland at the end of the year.

He was once hailed as a wonder kid when he left Gothenburg at 18 for Genk, that move never really worked out and he went to Nordsjaelland a couple of years ago where he has found good form particularly this year with 6 goals and 2 assists in 18 games.

He is a very strong player technically with a cracking left foot, and plays largely either as an attacking midfielder (similar to O’Riley used to) or can play off either wing too. He is still only 23 and has a bit more pace than O’Riley but not as strong at ball winning, however I do see similarities on the ball to O’Riley as Nygren has a similar build, good vision and is a good striker of the ball off the left foot, he also makes good runs to attack the box.

You would like to think he would be available for a cut price fee given he would only have 6 months left on his deal. I think he would be the type of talent that Rodgers would be able to unlock his full potential.

One of his real standout performances was against Fenerbache in the Conference League last year where he came on at half time and scored a hat trick of 3 very good goals.

Bobby Firmino looks like he’s had a wee fall out in Saudi.

Who signed him for Liverpool :fear:

Mentioned him before in here and in the transfer window thread last week. Louis Munteanu..

22 year old striker for Cluj. Serious talent that's on fire and an all rounder. Good in the box. Outside, either linking the play or beating a man 1 on 1. Good movement. Scores all types. Technically excellent. Decent pace..

16 goals in 22 games. 7 in his last 4. Including a hatttrick. 2 tonight and game still going..

Seen their record sale is for €3.5m. They bought Munteanu for €2.3m.

He looks like he has something about him and you'd expect them to sell for under £4m.

@Belgian_lad I'm sure I've asked you about Adem Zorgane before?

He seems like he has performed well for the last 5 seasons at a middle of the league club? Is he any good?

Not sure about him. In his first season at Charleroi he was tremendous! Even made him captain. Some good french clubs came sniffing for him. In his second season he went a little off-rail. Bad on pitch stinking attitude off it. Think we best stay well clear. Charleroi is a bit of a basket case of a club, i thunk he suits that. One day they are world beaters, next they go off the rails.

I'd be keeping an eye in when Kwame Poku returns from his nasty injury at Peterborough.

Originally he was tearing it up with 18 goal involvements in 1633 minutes for them in league one.

Would be interesting to see if he's able to return to form after a really bad injury and could be one to keep track of

I know a lot of posh fans where I live and they rate him. His contract is up in the summer.

Lukas Nmecha contract is up in the summer at Wolfsburg. He's had terrible injury problems since 2022 basically bit still only 26. Can play out wide or as a striker, 6ft 1, physical and has pedigree.

On a free he'd be worth a punt to cover both striker and out wide. Risky but if he could get over injuries would be a potential coup.

16 year old playing in Canada. Leagues youngest ever player and already been called up to the senior Canadian team training camp.

Should be trying to get more guys like this into the development scene.

Watched the Osaka derby earlier. Sota Kitano looks like a really good prospect. Technical and was pressing, good ball control and tactical awareness. Only 20, scored 2 goals and set one up

Haven’t seen much of the J League this season, it’s usually an enjoyable watch but I don’t have the subscription that covers it anymore.

I really hope we can still go to this well, I know we’ve had a few that haven’t stepped up to our level, but when you look at the levels of Maeda, Kyogo and Hatate, we should be looking to have a 1-2 in the squad on a regular basis.

I also think from a human factors perspective, it’s best to have a continuity, rather than if we lost our remaining Japanese contingent in Maeda and Hatate, it would certainly help the lads settle if there was already a senior statesman who has their respect.

Stats says he hasn't exactly been great the last three seasons.

However, he's only 20 and has been playing regularly for Osaka for three seasons. Definitely one we should be keeping tabs on.

As @craigtheceltic said, we need to be an eternal presence in that market. All top leagues have Japanese stars in them and we need to continue be part of that.

He is a decent player but I think he has picked up another injury after just being told you need to stay injury free to the end of the season for an extension. He does seem to have some major issue that keeps reoccurring.

Should take a punt on Gio Reyna (yes, his son) in the Summer

100 appearances for Dortmund, 30 caps for the US - really technical, clever player but has had a lot of injury problems and now fell out of favour. He’s supposedly on the market at around €10m
