He'll definitely be a better option than yang if Taylors not injured.

There’s an inherent weakness at the club in originating and executing but-side deals within a timely manner.

We really need fresh blood at that level.

    He's not a bad player.

But they're also basing their opinions on years of seeing him, much like we would with forrest. The fact is he's appeared 12 times in the league this season for a total of 94 mins. I also find it hard to believe he isn't one we couldn't have gotten in the door sooner.

I'm not that arsed about him, its the fact all the supposed hard work didn't lead to another striker or winger is my issue. The fact we got schlupp is fine for 4 months.

I think there's a lot of mental gymnastics being done by many fans to try and convince themselves that not replacing Kyogo is something that isn't deserved of criticism. I can't get my head around it. If we'd done the same with edouard, dembele etc would it have gotten the same reaction?

Still raging about that, game was still in the melting pot at that stage, a result there and we maybe get a better draw

who plays up top If Idah gets injured for the Bayern game?

Just find it strange that a club with our resources couldn't get a Striker in. I can't be bothered to be raging with it as we've seen it all before but it's just deflating. It's not all doom and gloom like some are saying but * come on Celtic could of got another striker in

Pretty sure Scales was holding his thigh or leg at that point and out on his *. I'm not entirely convinced it was a message.

There is still a lot of dross in the squad. Those out on loan such as Tillio, Kwon, Welsh, Lagerbielke, have no future at the club. Nawrocki, Yang, Montgomery need punted also.

My positive spin, and it's very much spin, is we have experienced cover at left back and left wing, and potentially a new player we can sign to cover Tierney / LW.

I know they are different players, play in different positions and he wasn't his replacement but I'd rather have Jota than Kyogo in that trade off.

I'd also like to see Idah get a run at it and see Maeda through the middle as a pressing forward, and I do think Kuhn and Jota are more Rodgers wingers with Jota being able to bring more out of Idah.

Still wanted and needed a striker though and all the things above would still remain true.

    Agreed.

As much as we liked the last summer window for getting rid of some of it, it's still full of *.

Still questions mark even if McCarthy is still * here or not?

You’d imagine this was down to still hoping we could get Tierney in.

Did you see Rodgers reaction to our goals? He absolutely wanted something out that game as well. It’s absolutely nonsense to suggest he was making subs to make a point. We had * nada on the bench to pick from.

If they make team worse then don't put them on.

I genuinely believe he chucked it, maybe not to make a point to board but more in a sporting sense as wed qualified already - so wanted to let young players experience UCL, maybe help keep them at club.
I love Rodgers but his subs in this case were desperately poor.

I think most fans felt happy coming out the summer and felt we had the strongest squad in some time. The euphoria of that has tailed a bit, but it still holds. This squad is more than good enough domestically and we have improved in Europe.

However, in typical Celtic fashion we have fired a bullet into our own foot. Letting Kyogo leave was only ever going to be good business if we had another dedicated striker come in. Even on loan.

Shlupp looks a good signing and will cover a number of areas, including LB, but * me Celtic.

Was mentioning the overall momentum in transfers and the change in approach with @JC Anton recently.
Where summer window, although not perfect and left areas still needing addressed, the outlay for both Engels and Idah (aside from if they are worth it), was a positive sign.

Think it's safe to say, no matter what you think of schlupp, this winter window has been back to the usual and any good will/momentum from summer time has been lost again.

Back to the usual under the stewardship of PL.

    Positives from the window:

Jota coming back. Adds much needed creativity to the team and takes the pressure off our other creative outlets Hatate and Kühn. Also adds depth to the wings.

Offloading some players who aren't going to feature. Welsh, Palma etc.

Schlupp may be a good addition who can perform in a number of positions.

    Negatives:

Selling Kyogo. Not replacing him. Hopefully it doesn't bit us in the * but fans have every right to be vocally critical about this imo.

Not getting Tierney in this window, although that may be out of our control.

Goalscorers that aren't projects cost money..

Rennes paid £10m for a 30yr old one..

Arteta simply being awkward and flexing his muscles to keep a player he doesn't want. KT would have been happy to come home, obviously having been a hun is nothing to do with Arteta's decision.

Idah and maeda will be the strikers until this season is out...Jota and Kuhn on the wings, I'm fine with that for this season.

It's a gamble but a relatively small one.

For what it is worth, there are some good points made here.

I wouldn't rule Cummings out completely. Obviously he is away in the summer, but as you point out, a lot of the decisions made this window were with the intent of getting from here to there, and rather than going out and getting someone just for the sake of making s a signing if there not exactly who BR was after, and are players available already at the club that can do as you say - get over the line. 10 wins at most is what it will take - and that still leaves us points to spare. So a player that we have at the club, that is banging the goals in for the 'B' team, who can do a job potentially when so many already don't understand why not giving enough opportunities to the Academy as it is.

Whether the club thinking there is a realistic prospect of overcoming Bayern is really kind of moot - after all, had we won away v Zagreb & home v Brugge (both of which were very achieveable when the draw was made, let alone when those games were being played out), we would have qualified automatically for the Last 16, rather than simply for the knockout phase. So that I guess does have to be seen somewhat as limiting ambition. TThe truth is, we don't have the scope to really go massively deep into the Champions League and compete in the marketplace with the massive superpowers, and by all accounts have achieved what the objective was at the start of the that campaign.
