Adam Montgomery

Celtic left-back Adam Montgomery could complete a late deadline day exit to St Johnstone.

The 22-year-old has been in Brendan Rodgers' squad all season but hasn't played since his loan spell at Mothwerwell last year.

He could be allowed to leave with Crystal Palace's Jeffrey Schlupp closing in on a move.

Montgomery spent the 2022/23 season on loan at McDiarmid Park

No mention of it on the BBC listings. Either someone was blowing smoke, mere wishful thinking or simply fell through.

 

Queen’s Park FC can today confirm the signing of Adam Montgomery from Celtic on loan for the rest of the season.

The 22 year old left back who is an Academy graduate of the Parkhead side, joins having had loan spells with Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Fleetwood Town and Motherwell in recent seasons.

Director of Football Darren O’Donnell commented: “We are delighted to be able to bring a player of Adam’s quality on board. Adam brings with him a wealth of senior experience at big clubs and we know he will be a real asset to us between now and the end of the season.”

“One of the most important factors in bringing Adam in is his versatility. Adam can play in a number of positions, not just left back. We have worked hard as a club to get this deal done and we look forward to seeing what Adam will bring to the squad over the coming months.”

Head Coach Callum Davidson said: “We are extremely pleased to be bringing Adam in. He is a player I know well having worked with him previously at St Johnstone and we know he will add real quality to the squad. He can play in a number of positions down the left hand side and that flexibility will be very important to us in terms of giving us options down that side of the team.”

“We have absolutely no doubt he will have a big role to play for us for the remainder of the season.”

Stunning to think that he is still only 22. Seems like he has been around the fringes and sent out on loans for years and years. Shame he has had so many injury problems that have curtailed his career to date. That is not to say that he would've properly broken through and become a first team regular, but noone wants a guy to have a career cut short, so really hope that he can make an impact whilst he is away on loan once again, as both of his loans last season got completely ruined.

Geez peace!!! That was never a penalty!!! As I was listening to some of the Hun podcasts, they were saying it was never a penalty.

 

Was never a pen in a million years ffs . Cheating * of a ref tried his best.
