He was way off it first half, really poor but fair play to him, came onto a game second half.

I'm sure I heard the fans singing his song at the end of the game too.

500 games is incredible. What a player and what a captain. Remarkable.

Won that 50/50 with their big midfielder for the important second goal. Might have been overshadowed by his mf partners, but was excellent.

Nice to be able to give him a rest pretty early on.

Him being allowed off the leash to an extent this season is a major part of everything we’ve seen us at our best this year. He picks his moments so well to join the attack

    * me off a tad yesterday. Several times in the first half, he receives the ball and with nobody near him, just strokes it back to the CH first time. He could easily taken a touch, gotten his head up and maybe played a forward pass. You could tell, before the ball reached him that he was going to pass it back.

I always pause before I post in this thread as I know the player he can be and was, but he frustrates the life out of me at the moment.

Constantly looking backwards, pointing for others to enter space when it should really be him, hiding among the opposition.

I think he’s the weak link in Europe in our midfield. Hatate not great, but at least looks forward a bit more often.

Perhaps I’m being unfair but it’s been going on a while, and he’s hiding from the ball in a way he didn’t used to previously.

I love CalMac but we're getting more and more desperate for replacement
Not the CL level to be leading the team

They struggled when we went direct with Daizen pressing. Should be trying to be more direct in the away tie.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I thought he was brilliant.

Love the man to bits but his position is one we should strengthen.

He’s slowed things down in midfield more often than not for a long time. Used to be my favourite player from the Deila days through to Ange. Still believe he’s the best candidate for captain for us, but he’s defo not the player he was.

Still had the odd performance that makes me think he’s got it in him and it changes my thinking again, but we all know there needs to be plan in place for a replacement asap.

Was much better in the second half at moments but has he completely lost the ability to take the ball on the half turn?? So many times in that first half he could have relieved the pressure on Taylor and Trusty. Not the first time in a European game he’s done that either.

He's 100 percent lost a couple yards of pace. Wouldn't be writing him off but we need to be looking at developing other options too
