AIDEN McGEADY has only been retired for a month - but he's already got plenty to keep him busy.

And the Celtic hero has revealed that he's tempted to go down one particular route after being asked to do some work for a former Parkhead team-mate.

That man is Shaun Maloney - with the Wigan manager asking him to do some scouting for him.

McGeady, who is also completing his A licence, told the 'Let's be Frank' podcast with Frank McAvennie: "I've been quite busy as well, doing odd bits of media, and helping Shaun Maonley at Wigan.

"I've been doing a bit of recruitment, kind of part time.

"Going to a watch players and giving my opinion on players is part of football that I'm passionate about and maybe a route I might fancy going down

Listen I've been busy finishing my A licence and doing lots of different things, I'm doing a course with the FA as well."

McGeady, meanwhile, has revealed that former Hoops boss Gordon Strachan floated an idea to RE-SIGN him later in his career at Dundee.

The winger and the Hoops boss had a tempestuous relationship at Parkhead, with McGeady previously suggesting the manager just didn't like him.

Things reached a boiling point in December 2008 when a dressing room row led to McGeady being fined £30,000 and suspended for two games - including a derby against Rangers - following an incident in the aftermath of a draw with Hearts.

But the 38-year-old has revealed how the pair almost linked up again more than a decade later.

He claims Strachan, who is a technical director at Dundee, tried to sign him for the Dens Park club

McGeady said: "Before I signed for Hibs or Ayr United, he got in contact with my agent because I think he does something at Dundee - football development.

“He got in contact and he asked for my number and he said he was going to give me a call about potentially going to Dundee.

And I went...100 per cent I'm not going to get a phone call. I never got one

His punditry today really annoyed me. His comments regarding Jota showing visible emotion when he scored were shocking. Expect it from Boyd as he's always a clown but from a former Celtic winger McGeady's comments screamed of jealousy as he could only dream of having a relationship like that with the Celtic fan base. For all the talk of mental health in the mens game and folk struggling to speak out, ridiculing Jota today was a step too far. Hopefully the * gets dropped from future punditry, can see why The Holy Goalie hated him lol.

Aye it was a * thing to say and the way he said it was very demeaning. Did not reflect very well on him at all. The one that really * me off was Kris Boyd, his brother committed suicide and he subsequently set up a mental health charity. To make a joke about a young guy showing his emotions is really shocking but sadly not unexpected from him.

Yeah, really poor comments from Boyd. He just can't hide what a bitter, sad individual he is on a weekly basis. Guaranteed if that was a Rangers player he would have had a totally different opinion on it.

Why do some ex Celtic players act like complete arseholes when they become media punters. Are they told to do it from their employer or they won't get the gig, if not, then McGeady must just be jealous of the love Jota gets from our fans. You wouldn't have heard the likes of McCoist or Boyd saying what McGeady said yesterday. They would no doubt be saying stuff like "he gets it" etc and you generally find that ex hun players very rarely slag off their team and tend to base their views on the thoughts of the rabid hun support.

Lennon looked like he never took to him, and he's had his own mental health issues.
