Really great interview. You can see he has deep thoughts about being here and is really focused and confident about what can be achieved. Lots of interesting ideas that he has about teamwork and I think he’s got really big ambition and faith in the whole project. It’s more than the run of the mill signing where a player is focused on himself and what he can do, Jota is talking about many other elements here which bring it all together

Smart money’s on 7 once we shift Palma. Tbh, I’d give him it anyway; let Palma have another number for the last few days he’s at the club.

Nope, got a feeling he's holding out for 7 or 17

Paulo Bernardo was humming along to the Celtic Jota tune even before he followed the Portuguese favourite to Parkhead. And the midfielder is convinced the returning Hoops ace will be even more on song in his second spell.

Bernardo was delighted to see his old Benfica pal sign up for another stint with Celts after 18 months away. The pair grew up together in Portugal and Jota helped give the playmaker the big sell when the Scottish champs came calling two summers ago. But they never got the chance to hit the high notes together with the wide man hitting the road for Saudi Arabia and then France.

The bold move to bring him back has paid off for Brendan Rodgers though and Bernardo reckons hearing the fans chant the old Jota song will be music to everyone’s ears at Parkhead. He said: “I heard the song before – even when I was still in Portugal! I think it’s a nice song. Jota did very well the last two years when he was here. The fans love him and I think he loves the fans too

He’s really happy. I talked to him and he’s really excited to be part of the club again and to be here with us. He just wants to play football again. It’s nice to be with him again. We played together in Benfica for one pre-season

I think I knew him as a kid. He was always at Benfica, like me. We were together for just one pre-season because he’s three years older than me and I was in a few teams below him.

“His game was always to dribble and to go forward to the players and score goals and make assists. I think he’s a really complete player and I think he will definitely help the group right now. He was unbelievable at Benfica and he was unbelievable at Celtic. I hope he does better here now

Hes looking very thin in some photos. To the point he's became a malnourished junkie that's kept his looks. Will take him 6 months to get up to speed imo. Will do a khun type turn around after the summer. Glad he's back so we can take care of him.

At least he will have 2 or 3 matches to get match fit including a cup game before playing in the CL playoffs

Can he play Sunday? If so, should see him off the bench on the hour mark.

It's good to have some competition for Palma.

Needs game time straight away, doesn’t matter if he isn’t ‘ready’ we need him ready in a couple of weeks time so it’s all hands to the pump to make that happen.

Get as many minutes in his legs as possible. I'd rather Rodgers on the wing than Yang

Still can't believe he's back tbh.

An incredible player on his day who was also incredibly consistent for us. Only 25 years old as well and it's clear Rennes are an absolute shambles so won't judge his lack of game time too much. Saudi league move didn't work out but again, wouldn't judge him too much on it.

    Can't wait until he's 100%, what a difference he'll make.

Jota will be in the Celtic squad to face Motherwell this weekend, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed.

The winger couldn't feature in the Champions League during the week since he wasn't included in the European squad when it was announced back in August.

But the boss says he will be in the mix against Motherwell on Sunday as he goes looking for his second Hoops debut

They've went and sacked their manager before he even got a chance to play Kyogo as well.

Pretty sure we can. I would imagine we will see him start on the bench as you say and probably how much game time he gets will depend on where the club assess his fitness levels at currently.
