To be fair Brondby seem to be taking the pics with their valuation. £14 million for a guy who hasn't even 100 appearances. No international caps. Limited experience in Europe. I can see why we are trying to negotiate because despite what Idah did against Villa people have been far from impressed for £9 million.

Whys more people saying it won't be happening the last 2 days? Has there been anything to say so or is it just usual negative thoughts on here?

Tbf why wouldn't people think negatively of Celtic in transfer windows? I would question why people would be positive?

This summer was better but remember we left it very late and BR on more than 1 occasions publicly aired his frustration and said we were behind where he wanted to be and people forget that.

I'll be positive when Celtic show they can be trusted to not * around it's really that simple.

im in the odd position where i actually think they will get the signings right this time ( im usually slightly negative) .i dont think rodgers would have harping on about meeting desmond in december or knowing about kyogo wanting to leave months ago ,then turn round and do nothing about it .if its to be kvistgaarden for £14m so be it ,that only £4m difference from what just got for kyogo

I do understand some of the concerns tbh, whilst the Summer window did turn out good it definitely dragged on a bit, and previous windows were pretty poor.

I am confident we'll get players in, not so much for LB but I think we'll get another winger and a ST in.

It was a big financial risk. Bigger risk than Engels or Idah. Engels came with an excellent Bundesliga pedigree. Idah was a known quantity to us.

Kvistgaarden was an unknown and untested player. I am not surprised that the Celtic Board baulked at the risk.

    Absolute nonsense.

Engels had played 50 games for Augsburg, who themselves, were and are a pretty poor Bundesliga team. £11m was a huge risk for him.

Idah had never scored consistently for Norwich and his only real patch was for us, where strikers are going to score goals.

Kvistgaarden has consistently scored goals and provided assists for Brondby, who play in a league that is far more competitive than our own. Put him in a team like ours, who constantly dominate the ball, constantly create chances and he takes his goal scoring records to new highs. He’s also played out on the wing far more than he has played up front, which makes his scoring record more impressive. 85 games for Brondby in his last 3 seasons, 33 goals and 14 assists. At 22 years old, it’s a no brainer.

Celtic done what Celtic always do in the summer window.
Left it late, fell short, but what business they did do, they organised it in a way to make it seem exciting.
Two big money deals and a return of Bernardo made it exciting.

But the thing is, we was a left winger, a CDM and another CB short of what was needed. A perm left back as well if we want to be extra grumpy with it.
Since then, we've weakened ST and LB further more and it looks very likely neither is gonna be actually sorted this window.

So yeah, always question and sceptical about how the board/club operate here.

Kyogos highlight reel for us literally insane. Scored some ridiculous goals for us , watched a few YT vids and thought those rennes fans must be buzzing as * if they didn't know too much about him.

I don’t know if he wants to come here or not. That’s not really my argument, to be fair.

I know we've all seen how things can play out for us in transfer windows..

But, in the summer we broke our transfer record and paid top cash for Idah, getting Bernardo in for under £4m was and still is an excellent bit of business..

Trusty again paid good cash and is a decent acquisition..

Then you add Schmeichel and McCowan, both in their own very prudent captures.

LB, we must have sounded KT out..

And as far as the wingers have been concerned they were given to this window to show what they can do, with Palma moving on and Jota in the building..

We can absolutely criticise when have poor windows, the summer wasn't one. Even if the business was done later , than was ideal..

He’s played 110 times for Brondby.

I think the point is if Kvistgaarden came here and it didn’t work out (homesick, pressure, personality problems etc.), you’d struggle to get a lot of that money back.

With Engels, he has a solid Bundesliga season behind him and is a Belgium cap. You’d still be able to get a significant chunk back without even trying.

I’ve wanted him here since last season and I do rate him as a player, but it’s a helluva price to overpay.

You probably would but you don’t hold off on signing players because of potential factors outside of football affecting them. You could literally say that about any of our big signings. Edouard, Engels, Idah, Julien… they all cost big money and all came with a risk of not working out.

I think people are transfixing on the figure far too much. If we pay £10m for him and he comes here and rattles 35 goals in a season, he’s heading to a top 5 league for £20m plus. The club have scouted him for nearly 18 months. There really is nothing more they can look at. They’ve probably already been in touch with his representatives or agents to talk to the player about the move, where his head is at, where his salary is at. If a deal is there to be done, do it. Every club should have a ceiling for a player and we may all differ about the price. I think if you’re getting him for £10m with add ons that are reflective of CL participation or winning the league then it’s a no brainer.
