Dont know, sounds a lot but its modern day prices-we paid big money for Eddy a few years ago, so with inflation, this may be a realistic price for a prospect. We have the coin, so if the management team think he is a proper realistic prospect, then pay the money. We paid a lot for Ihah and he's nowhere near the finished article, its the modern day market we are operating in.

I think we’ll offer a fair price towards the end of the window if he’s the one we want. I suspect we’re lining up some other options so if Brondby ask for an unreasonable price we can walk away.

We paid £2m for Kuhn a year ago. I accept we should pay more and the market obviously does inflate, but this would be overpaying.

Think that Idah price is about as far as we'd go for anyone, so about £10M, probably in installments. We might have loads of money, but we're not about to go crazy and spend it all.

Brondby have slapped a £14million price on Celtic target Mathias Kvistgaarden.

The 22-year-old Dane is Brendan Rodgers' top target to replace Kyogo Furuhashi after the fans’ favourite left for Rennes.

But Brondby are reluctant to sell their star man in the current window unless the deal shatters their previous transfer record.

As things stand, the two sides are a distance apart in their valuations.

Celtic's existing record transfer is the £11m they paid for midfielder Arne Engels.

The Parkhead club agreed to sell Kyogo to Rennes in return for the French Ligue 1 club selling them winger Jota for nine million euros (£7.6million

He seems decent but 14mill is far too much.

    We won't pay £14m.

We could offer a package up to that probably but with some FM type clauses.

Don’t think that’s a hard deal to get done, £10M up front with some add ons with a 15% sell on.

Their biggest sales were around £6M mark but now we’ve spent big on Engles & Idah teams will see us as the cash cow.

Aye I still think they'd take 10 up front.

No transfer is ever just the full payment I don't think anyway and some of the clauses may never even be met.

Plus they will know we are minted. Am like you a think £9m to £10m with a few addon would get it done.

I reckon £10m + add ons would do it. I'd pay it, but understand it's a risk. Regardless we need to make a decision soon.

I'd imagine the decision has already been made tbh.

    Should know by Friday.

Aye, good point. We just need to twiddle our thumbs and be patient. We're all good at doing that, right?

Just because they want £14 mill doesn't mean much, remember how much we wanted for O'Reilly. I reckon they would accept £10 mill plus add ons.

I have no doubt that if we really want him this window we will get a deal done.

I still think £10m is far too much.

£8m would be my absolute max and is a very fair offer.

Since the last set of accounts we posted to 30th of June, 2024,
    - we are in the region of ~£11m positive from transfer dealings.
    - we are on course for a record year as far as revenue is concerned, likely outperforming last years record of just under £125m by around £12m to take us to £137m revenue.
    - even with performance based costs being higher, our operating profit of around £18m from last year will at the very worst be the same, but more than likely higher for this year.

Essentially we are going to get KT back at a below market value price, yes there will be a signing on bonus to consider and big wages but we are getting a player easily worth an 8 figure fee for no actual transfer fee and possibly at most paying £1.5m to get him early this month.

I don’t know what a fair price is for Kvistgaarden, but we should be able to spend a good amount on a new striker. I am hoping if we get KT over the line we still manage to get that striker plus being greedy one more player in this month to settle in before next season.

As previous windows have shown us, who knows which players may move on come the summer. How we get on in the CL from here may determine just that. Guys like Hatate, Kuhn and possibly CCV and Johnston, are all players that could attract interest in the summer. So having a couple of new bodies bedded in means it’s 3 or 4 we need in the summer not 6 or 7.
