The club has stated a "number of issues", which the BBC has refused to address.

This is indicative of a long running issue on reportage.

I don't agree with barring any journalist.

But the BBC isnt a privately owned corporate mouthpiece.
It's a publicly funded broadcaster, where opinion based hatchet jobs should be limited to the appropriate forums through their outlets, ie. Sportscene etc.

Agree that they shouldn't be banned, but that doesn't mean we can't make their "journalists" persona non grata; ie. Refuse to answer their questions at pressers, deny them equal access to training etc.

I'm of the mind to treat them the way big Sutton treated that one "journalist" at his pitchside interview after we won the league.
He just stood there, let them ask about 6 questions and he didn't respond to single one. Just stood there like he was waiting for a real journalist to arrive.

If anyone should be banned from CP it should be Skysports.
Their behaviour over the past 5 years has been * reprehensible. "Translategate" alone should've been cause to kick them out in their arses.

The decision to do this and BR saying in his opening interviews coming back he’ll get a grip on the press again as well, it’s calculated rather than being offended I think.

Saying that, personal criticism of BR would probably irritate him I imagine. But he can’t ban * on his lonesome. Picked a non-issue, that wasn’t controversial, and with very little fanfare or fuss about it stuck the boot down on them.

One of those things I don’t know if I’ll agree is a good move till we have the benefit of hindsight.

I completely agree of banning journalists. I would even go further tbh. Because if you think that MSM have journalist in 2023 you are deluded. Its political nowasays and the ones working and selling their souls i would not care if they got run over on the highway.

Poison… whether they are stronger or not, rodgers will have their number 9/10 guaranteed. Once we have our defence sorted it will be nailed on for us to punish them in attack id say. Some of our forward play against wolves and Bilbao was great. Hopefully see the intensity highered again today

Spot on...I left the MSM in 2010. Back then MSM journalist's had the ability to critically think. I can't even watch / read the news now as it's so dumbed down, biased and political. The good news (pun intended) is that news rejection (i.e. people who have given up news totally) is now up to around 48% and the BBC is worried about this and is looking for ways to fix that (err...try impartial news lol) anyway...i wouldn't be bothered if the club banned all journalists to be honest.

I agree but highly doubt that Celtic would refuse the major live broadcaster access to CP and pressers. They bring the money to the table unfortunately.

BBC add nothing really in the grand scheme.

Remember Kenny Dalglish kicked Keevins out of the press conference he was holding in the supporters club on London Road? :giggle1:
It was funny at the time but all a bit embarrassing. I rarely read any BBC articles but banning them definitely seems more like something the huns would do.

Wonder if this has come from Desmond as he isn’t a fan of Tom English

Still holding a grudge with the BBC over mark Daly hounding him up the Celtic way.

I despise the BBC for their Sevco-sooking stance and conveyor belt of hun pundits … but it cones across as reactionary ‘appease the fans and show them we mean business’ tokenism. (and the sort of tactics another institution employs)

Tom English is a *-stirring * who did all he could to big-up the Huns ‘dossier’ and question the legitimacy of our title in 19/20. He should simply just be ignored… a Keevins grade observer with better media access.

The * should stick to egg-chasing and golf.

As others have pointed out… it’s the decades of cheating and rule flouting that should be getting raised..

… not giving oxygen to the attention seeking ramblings of a no-mark hack and his ‘institution’ employers.

Looks like a lot of folk are jumping to conclusions with this. I don't think there's any chance whatsoever that this is purely down to the article by English, yet the club are getting pilloried for it regardless. Think I'll hold off until they actually say something about it myself.

You just need to look at bbc sport Scotland today to get their vibe… headline is all about the Huns improving and being fit to challenge…. Soook sook

While there’s a podcast asking if Celtic are strong enough to retain the title.

I think it's about time our club done this as we have been getting shafted by the MSM for years - cracked crests, coffins, translategate, open abuse from the likes of Boyd, Walker and English etc. while a club who openly cheated with their EBT's scheme, have made threats to club chairmen (McCoist), who's fans continually sing sectarian/racist songs and attack our players on the pitch, banned Big Sutton from ipox due to concerns about his safety and can somehow go full seasons without conceding a penalty get an easy ride. Naw, good on you Celtic and hopefully the next target is the SFA and their appointment of well known hun fans Dallas and Aitken in the VAR roles
