I was thinking about that earlier, start of December him on loan till summer was a rumour, one that made no sense to me. But if we knew Kyogo was likely to leave, and me thinking right now, that’d be amazing

He's been at Osasuna for a while. And said policy should change. We got a tune out of Mooy. The least the club should do after letting go of a striker like Kyogo is sign someone who is not a project.

 

Mooy was known first hand by Ange. He had first hand experience of Scottish football. He was free. He was a zero risk signing to add depth. This scenario almost couldn’t be more different.

And no, we shouldn’t change our recruitment policy just because you’re upset that Kyogo is gone. Better players have left us, we move on.

He isn’t coming back here, he is going wherever the big money is. Dembele had the potential when he was here to become a proper top class striker, he had everything you would want to lead the line and showed it in some of the CL games even when we were getting battered. However, he didn’t seem to have the right attitude for it.

He done the same at Lyon at a higher level firing them to the later stages of the CL and being fair to him if it wasn’t for COVID I think he would have left them for a lot of money to a big club rather than on loan to Atletico and then obviously had the medical issues.

He was some player for us when he fancied it but always got the impression he was a bit of a mercenary or at least advised by them.

 

I know I know, one can but dream though!

 

Not right now but if we do go down the loan route, a striker about to return from a long term injury that was absolutely flying before it was Rafiu Durosinmi, he’s just turned 22, is a proper all round centre forward who was going to Frankfurt for €10m but got this bad injury.

He is just ready to resume playing and will only have a year left on his deal come the summer. If he does well and stays fit to the end of the season, he would be worth a look.
