I want us to sign him but I can't help but think we would've had a bit more noise if we were interested.

Also as usual take rumours with a big pinch of salt but I saw someone online say their boy is pals with Miller and according to them Miller doesn't want to stay in Scotland.

He'll tear it up elsewhere and we'll be left asking what the * happened. Again.

    Nothing surer.

Would be a straight forward deal that would leak like a sieve long before he signs . The lack of noise as you say suggests we aren't in for him.

He wouldn’t have been any where near the team on an occasion like last night. That’s the bottom line for any player coming in now.

Only seen him against us this season and haven’t been blown away. What is it that he does that impresses, for those that have watched more of him than me.

Stats don’t suggest a goal threat, all of which our midfield three are as well as McCowan from the bench.

Given our midfield situation at the moment, i think it suits us that he is still with Motherwell but I would imagine that could change quickly and it wouldnt surprise me if we have asked his agent to keep up updated with any developments.

Rodgers has spoken highly of him, last time I remember him doing the same was Lewis Morgan.

I definitely think their will be Italian sides watching him, but abroad doesnt always mean better than Celtic or better than what we can offer him. I still firmly believe we should have moved for him before now. Guy could be a future captain and mainstay in our midfield.

Control, passing (long and short) and shooting are all impressive for a player his age. Very good free kick taker.
He also defends well for a player who doesnt have the biggest physique. Has a great attitude and has already shown leadership qualities.

Would expect his stats to improve in a better team.

Goal contributions are 10 in 26 this season. Put into perspective, Hatates are 10 in 35, albeit there are some tough european opponents in the mix there.

Need to remember he's 18 years old.

That comes into it massively. If he was scoring 10 a season whilst assisting the same and an all-round complete player he'd be going to Real Madrid at that age.

I said earlier but I was guilty of judging others too early. I didn't see it with Hickey or even Robertson initially. Mcginn as well.

£4M plus a 20% sell on would be a good deal all round, even put him back on loan for rest of season.

I'd be up for signing him, I do think it would be a better summer signing though as I half expect Hatate to leave. With the amount of games we'd play even with McGregor, McCowan, Engels and Bernardo there is still plenty of game time available.

    How I see it.
We've an almost perfect 5 options for the 3 positions where everyone is getting plenty of meaningful game time.
Should Hatate leave (not wanting him to), then Miller would be ideal to come in.
More so as CalMac rotates out the side a bit more as next season comes around and then we can plan for the future as well.

Sign miller now and leave him at Motherwell for the season. Win win.

How many of us would give up weekly game time to go sign for a different club and rot on the bench for the next 4 years?

OK, rot is way to harsh turn of phrase but I doubt he even gets half the game time with us, Lennon can look at McCowan as proof of that who's arguably never put foot wrong in games he's been able to play.

However if Motherwell and Lennon were both happy to sell the player even for a fee around £5mill and we let him stay there for another season or loan him immediately to a club in Europe where can get game time I'd be happy with the arrangement, he can't be signed and left scrapping around for 400/500 minutes of game time a season, he should immediately be out on loan getting minutes.

We should be signing him and loaning him back. We have the money to be able to do that.

Apparently they are only looking for closer to £4m. Could easily sign him at that and loan back for 6 or even 12 months tbh.

If he returned to us next January he'd still only be 19.

Watching footage and he does spend a lot of his time as the deepest midfielder so im not sure about a Hatate replacement. Great positional awareness for his age, calmness on the ball, passing range and already a leader. Surely we have to consider him a really strong contender to replace McGregor.

Genuinely if you watch his passing there and the way he positions himself, if we were to be linked with any other 18 year old in world football it'd be a unanimous yes from everyone. He's a must sign. Analytically he's one of the top performing midfielders in Europe at his age. If not the best, I'm sure.

We must be keeping a close eye. McManus knows him, Hamill as well.

His passing is already exceptional. I cant remember too many players who look as cultured or composed as he is at his age. Im not sure there are many in our squad who were playing at the level he is playing at his age either.

I think he could be a future captain for us and the long term successor to McGregor in midfield. Thats how good I think he can be.

    I fully agree.

For starters, mcgregor wasn't as good at 18. Nor McGinn.

Watching him play in the video he reminds me of Big George Connelly the way he sprays the ball about the park to his team mates , I would like to see him being signed for us as he will be a star player for the future and will only get better the older he gets , and I think he will eventually play for a top team in the premiership , get him signed Celtic.

Bit different in type of midfield they play but thought doak was a better prospect, he wanted to leave though I suppose,

had a few 18,19 year olds looked the part at Motherwell, Phil Odonnell, David Turnbull to name but a few, came to Celtic certainly had their moments but never really fullfilled the potential they promised in my opinion

He's out injured and not going to be moving this window. Look forward to discussing it again in the summer.

It’s a no brainer to sign this lad. Sign him loan him back to Motherwell for year to 18 months as long as he is getting first team football he will develop.

like others have said we have turned our noses up at other really good Scottish prospects and they have done down south or abroad and are smashing it.
