Porto is a terrific city, no doubt. Very welcoming to foreigners (similarly to Lisbon, but people in the North are known for being "warmer").

Question for those that have been, did anyone take young kids with them?

Going to book it for my 40th in a couple of months but want to know whether or not a week is too long in Lisbon with a 6 and 2 year old.

Why not go to Albufeira for 5days then Lisbon for the remainder. Train direct to Lisbon about 3 hours.

Did a fortnight in the Jupiter Albufeira not so long ago! Was class.

If it’s too long I’ll just make it a long weekend or even 5 nights, I’d actually prefer that TBH.

More a city break than a kids holiday destination. l would say 3 or 4 days or do as @trackebhoy says

I would say a week is too long with kids, 3-5 days, maybe hire a car and do a wee trip along the coast one day like to Estoril to see the hotel they stayed or book one night there and the rest in Lisbon, can also use it to get too and from the airport and to the stadium or all the stadiums without the hassle of public transport with young kids.

Going again this November and would like to do either the Benfica or Sporting Lisbon stadium tour. Leaning more to Benfica because of the history. Anyone know which would be best and are any of them on or near a Metro line?
