Would have thought we'd never see him again.

Absolutely delighted he's coming back.

Technically the most exciting player to watch in a long time.

 

Jota and Tierney down the left is a mouthwatering prospect.

 

I just pray he hasn't lost...something.

Celtic plan to conclude a stunning £9million deal to re-sign Portuguese winger Jota over the weekend.

And they will hold fire on the £10m sale of Kyogo Furuhashi to French club Rennes until agreement with Jota is reached. The Japanese striker was pictured boarding a private jet at Glasgow airport today before later touching down on French soil

Plans for Jota to fly to Glasgow in the next 24 hours have been delayed by Storm Eowyn.

The 25-year-old left Celtic 18 months ago for a £25m deal in Saudi Arabia but, after a difficult spell, switched to Rennes last summer for a fee of around £10m.


A Parkhead target last summer, the former Benfica man was initially reticent over a return to Parkhead.

However, the French club’s move for Furuhashi opened a window of opportunity for Celtic to try again and, provided negotiations reach a satisfactory conclusion, both deals are likely to go ahead

 

I get it, but I think he’ll be even more determined after how disastrous Saudi and Rennes were for him.

 

Just think about Jota & Kuhn on the wing.

 

Jota KT on one side and AJ and Kuhn on the other is unbelievable btw …. Pretty sure Jota was good on the right as well when he had to fill in. Gives us some good options!

he is 26, he hasn’t lost any ability, impossible. Bring him back to where he’s loved and he’ll rip this league apart more than he did under Ange. He will flourish under Rodgers. If he returns I genuinely feel he’ll be better than he was under ange. He’s a class act, fan favourite, handsome, technically tremendous, massive boabie etc etc.

* buzzing at him possibly returning. In the last 10 or so years, he’s the one I’ve been most gutted about leaving as he had everything. Exciting to watch, game changer. Plus he was my 2 young sons (7&9) favourite player. They’ve been singing jota on the wing all night (as have I). New neighbours must think we’re off our * rocker AND WE SAID * BLESS THE POPE!!!

 

I think he has lost something, but he did the first time around as well when he was meant to be the next big thing at Benfica.

He came here and was magic, I honestly think once he comes back has that fire ignited once again he will be magic once more.

Can't believe most folk joked in the first half of this season about how amazing it would have been to have Jota and Kuhn on the wings and the debate was had of who is better.


And here we are, seemingly on the cusp of that being a reality.

Told ye. What an investment

 

When you think how good Rodgers had us looking with Sinclair and Roberts on the wings, this has to be our best combination of wingers since then right? Very exciting.

 

My mate asked me when Rodgers got confirmed who I was looking forward to him working with the most. I said Jota given how well he worked with the wingers last time and brought on Sinclair and Forrest and Roberts. Sadly we never got to see but buzzing to see it now.

 

Anycunt on Reddit?

The CelticFC subreddit posted a picture of him with the caption “Our superstar from Portugal” 3 hours ago. Not sure if that’s a sort of official Celtic thing but I was under the impression it was. I just kind of float about Reddit reading stuff to be fair so could be well off the mark.

 

Remind me, we paid £6.5m formgim and sold him for £25m with 20% going to benfica again?
Or was that 30%?

That's £14m given to benfica for him, £9m to us.

If we are signing him for £10m, is it likely that we've basically had Jota for free, for two stints?

I adored him at the time, Anges first season is probably my favourite time as a Tim aside from the invincible season and MON’s time here.

Once he left for Saudi it sort of painted him in a different light and I felt like he was a bit of a using * to be honest and I’ll stick by my opinion that I prefer Kuhn as for the most part he’s no frills, just a cracking footballer. But now it’s looking like happening I feel like I’m falling in love again

 

Nah almost no teams subreddits are officially affiliated with the club like that. Definitely ours isn't. It's just a fan forum like this.
