    Seemingly that depends on whether Jota was ever deemed to be domiciled in the UK, which I’d be very surprised if he was.

    I went over this in more detail in the Jota thread, but basically because he's been living and working in France, his Saudi income is already subject to tax under French law. Because we have double-tax agreements in place with France, he very likely won't be taxed on that income again if he comes to the UK.

    No matter how many times I read this tax issue with Saudi money, I still can't get my brain past the sheer fuckery of it.

    Why, a Portuguese national would need to pay uk tax on income earned in Saudi Arabia, is a * mystery to me.

    To be fair, it makes sense for the Tierney deal to be dragging on.

    No worries about the pre contract, I'm 99% certain that's done, but I don't think we'd announce the pre-contract whilst we're still trying to get him on loan.

    As for winger, hopefully we see a bit of movement on that over the next week, good to see it's the 3rd of February the window ends and not the 1st, an extra few days could mean a lot.

    Isn't the issue that he lived and worked in the UK, went to Saudia and would be coming back to the UK within 2 years?

    He never lived and worked in France before signing for Renne so I don't think the French could tax him.
