Ezechiel Banzuzi From Leuven in Belgium would be the player for me. CDM and Netherlands u21 pedigree so brilliant on the ball. 6”3, 121 professional games already and only 19. Someone like that to allow McGregor to move up the pitch would help to stabilise that midfield and make it stronger

then KT as it looks to be, along with 2 wingers and we’ll be good

 

Looks a cracking player but apparently going to Monaco or now more likely West Ham.

 

We’re absolutely crying out for a proper defensive-minded holding midfielder. Preferably a massive big crazy *. Although pretty redundant for at least half our domestic games, it’s a huge hole in the squad and very noticeable in Europe, at Ibrox and even at Dens the other night.

Bringing in a quality defensive midfielder who can also play centre back would do absolute wonders for our squad depth (as well as our European hopes).

I think we will look to move on a few this window.

We say this every window and have done for years however I fear once again it won't happen.

Both Ange and Rodgers can't see past McGregor as the number 6 so neither where gonna go and blow an huge chunk of their budget on someone to essentially be a back up.

As you say for a lot of our games we don't need an out and out DM but there are also games we really do. Probably best we can hope for is an Iwata or Bitton type who can be brought on to see out games.

I know he had his critics but I still think allowing iwata to go was without a proper replacement was a ridiculously short sighted move

Would leave us pretty flexible as well with both being able to occupy all 3 positions up top I'm sure..

Really happy about the level and the type of wingers we're being linked with the past week, hopefully some of the rumours have more to them and we get 1 or 2 of these guys in. Not sure we'll see much happen until after the CL games wind up tho and us and every other team assesses their squad needs.

We need 2 really but 1 would probably do til the summer..

If Kyogo goes then someone like Barry could play up top. Clearly got the finishers touch..

 

Overall, it's encouraging the level of player now being linked.
We've moved up from the £2-£3M club to the £7-£10M brigade!
That alone guarantees you nothing of course, but that's the right market for us and hopefully we recruit well.
