Should have taken a punt on him for the under 13's when he was first mentioned.

Papers throw our name in every window.

Still can't see it for a couple of reasons.

He was identified by Mark Lawwell and Rodgers has pretty much binned 90% of his recommended signings.

Going off of Rodgers previous spells in management and his s general style of play, I just dont see him signing a striker who is 5 foot 8. We already have one and most are in agreement that he doesn't fit Rodgers style and he isn't really Rodgers type of striker, so find it highly unlikely we will sign similar.

Was it not common knowledge we made a bid last Summer though?

If we want him though it has to be this month because his goals have kept increasing along with his value i’d assume.

It was around 6-8m was it not?

I like we are trying to kick on but 9m on Idah and this guy?

We can do better at that fee for me.

£9m is fairer for this guy than it was for Idah imo.

This lad will make his full Denmark debut soon and no doubt be off to the Bundesliga. He seems to have more attributes that would regularly help us than Idah, as well.

He's also in form, we've paid for Idah largely through a 3 month spell, some big goals and the fact we were appearing rather desperate.

We ask for £30m for our top players. A side in the Danish league is also entitled to get as much money as they can. I feel like our fans can be quite hypocritical with that sometimes and then moan when other teams lowball us.

I would also be surprised if it took £9m to get him. I know it’s the quoted price but Brøndby having missed out on Europe will likely need to sell one of their better players to balance the books, that came from a Danish Football Writer as they run at an operational deficit.

It might end up being a total package worth close to that figure but I don’t think it would be like Idah where we paid a guaranteed £8.5m which was well over priced and everyone knew it at the time.

On doing much better, I would say striker is probably the hardest position to recruit now for anyone at all levels as there is a real shortage of good strikers out there even right at the top level. A lot of teams are taking to using wingers or 10/ false 9s as their main source of goals just now or there main men are underperforming.

Most teams leading the big leagues either have a 30+ guy doing the role or it’s more of a fluid front 2 or 3.

    - Liverpool
    - Arsenal
    - Napoli
    - Real Madrid
    - Barcelona
    - Bayern Munich (Kane 30+)
    - Leverkusen
    - Atletico
    - Club Brugge
    - PSV

Man City and Newcastle seem to be the main two not doing this and that’s because they both have that rare top number 9 in Haaland and Isak, Sporting too with Gyokeres.

Finding a striker seems pretty tough at the moment with the main players tending to be inverting Wingers.

I hate Celtics transfer dealings. We've seemingly been following him for near 2 years now. Profile , value a d ultimately price going up all the time. Pay the money. Don't wait til the end of the window til players are gone before bringing someone in. Crazy!!
