Most arsenal fans are wanting him to start against spurs on Wednesday. Got a good reception when he came on yday

His class/ability has never been questioned by them that’s why. Just hasn’t got onto the pitch much recently.

listening the bbc coverage yesterday, artetas being questioned at the moment as some fans don’t seem to think he’s improving. Not playing Tierney at left back when fit is actually one of the things they’ve complained about

The young lad they played at left back yday was stinking aswell Tierney is the much better option. I was just mentioning it though as I’m not sure how I feel about it with him being linked to us as he could potentially pick up a knock but I suppose that can happen in any game. Would be good for him to get 60 mins and get a bit of match sharpness up

You do wonder if we're waiting for the YB result, if we win we may get him on loan, if we don't qualify probably just signs the pre-contract and joins in the summer... and we go with Taylor and Valle resf of the season.

Probably get sorted at the end of window.

Wouldn't surprise me. The league is over, he'd probably only be worth signing now if we qualified for CL.

Taylor and Valle have both done a solid job for us at left back this season and neither has shown any indication of being unsettled despite Taylor not signing a new deal and Valle only being on loan. Signing Tierney on a pre- contract with next season in mind is fine at this point given its not like he needs the 6 months to settle into life at Celtic as well. If we do sign Tierney we have to make sure though we have a second left back assuming Taylor indeed doesn't sign a new contract as its totally unrealistic to expect Tierney to play the number of games we have over the course of a season.

To me, it's a bad signing with injury and failure written all over it.

You can't do these things out of sentiment or u end up signing james mccarthy

Tierney should not want to tarnish his reputation as a good Celtic man either by taking a fat contract and sitting on it if he knows he's not fit enough to fulfill it properly. Celtic fans don't take well to that type of *....see Marvin comper...and yes james mccarthy

Just dont get the James McCarty comparisons.
Sure, there are the injuries concerns but we will just need to manage that.
KT is a world class full back, JMcC was bang average in his prime.

He is at his best a very good full back. No sure about world class. But that's not the question here......It's how often will he be fit to play? And is he worth the fat contract.

If he's not fit then he's no use to us

I think when he's fully fit he improves most teams on the planet personally, but looking at his history it's just a matter of time before he'll be out for an extended period of time again, and at that point those wages could be better spent elsewhere.

I can completely see where your coming from if we do indeed sign Tierney. No question it would be a gamble. I will just trust that our medical people will be able to make the correct determination. Personally I am neither for nor against making it. Its a gamble and for me I just will put my trust in Rodgers and the medical people at Celtic making the right call.

Did he not average about 25/26 games a season?

Rare for him to actually have decent news for us.. :giggle1:

Hopefully this month rather than the summer.

Having someone of his ability and desire coming into the squad would be an excellent boost.

Waltz’s right into the team seamlessly with no transitional period whatsoever.

A massive coup of a signing only made possible by his love of the club otherwise a player of his pedigree, quality and age is never joining Celtic. Injury concerns or otherwise.

Someone of his ability, even with the injury concerns on a FREE is a no brainer. If the worst comes to the worst, we are paying someone handsomely to sit on the sidelines. Wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last. Def worth the risk.
