It was an absolute screamer. Not seen that from him in a long time to the point I almost thought he'd lost all talent he had!

Jesus, the boy has been through a tough time recently losing both grandparents, hopefully he heals in time and has loved ones around him. Now this could be why he wasn't performing at his peak, we all know how it can affect your every day life losing someone.

Get our money back and use it for the Norwegian winger. Progress.

    Rayo Vallecano
The signing of Luis Palma enters its final phase
ESTADIO Deportivo has learned that Rayo Vallecano and Celtic have already closed the agreement for the loan of Luis Palma, pending the final details of the operation. The Honduran winger is expected to land in Madrid next week to sign

Luis Palma is very close to becoming Rayo Vallecano's first signing of this winter window. The Honduran winger was not having much of a role at Celtic, and was looking forward to an exit in this market. The Madrid club has already reached an agreement for a loan with an option to buy (valued at around 2.5 million euros) to secure the services of Luis Palma until the end of the current season. The player is expected to travel to Madrid next week to sign his new contract. At this time, the last details of the operation are being finalised.

The Bukanero team has started the year 2025 in good form. Iñigo Pérez's pupils beat Celta de Vigo (2-1) in LaLiga EA Sports this Friday. In addition, last week they beat Racing de Ferrol (1-3) in A Malata in the first match of the year, certifying their passage to the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey. The Navarrese coach is recovering the best version of the 'franja', and is already in the noble zone of the league table. The sports management is working on the transfer market with the aim of strengthening the squad. Everything indicates that Luis Palma will become the first winter reinforcement of Rayo Vallecano

Luis Palma, 24, has played ten games for Celtic this season. The Honduran winger is not an undisputed figure in Brendan Rodgers' plans, and had options to leave the Scottish club in this winter market. The player has a contract in force until 2029, and has a market value of 3.5 million euros, according to the specialist portal Transfermarkt

As we told you in ESTADIO Deportivo, Luis Palma already had an agreement with Rayo Vallecano. The 'franja' were negotiating with Celtic Glasgow, and they have finally reached an agreement for the loan of the player until the end of the current season with a purchase option of around 2.5 million euros. This Sunday we have been able to learn that the agreement is already closed, pending the last details. In addition, we have been confirmed that Luis Palma is expected to land in the capital next week to seal the signature on his new contract. The Honduran attacker will be under the orders of Iñigo Pérez to face the second part of the campaign.

That's quite a hit to take on him for me if fee is true he had a decent UCL campaign last season and did well in league. Don't see that fee being true.

Decent move for him that, going to a mid-table La Liga side.

I think his qualities are suited to certain teams/leagues. Palma has a great right foot, brilliant technique and posts decent G+A numbers.

He's just not suited to us and is far too slow to be a winger. He's an old school number 10 type.

Good luck. Just think his style doesn’t suit us.

Actually gutted to see him go, think there is a player in him but for whatever reason, it just hasn't worked out. He started brightly and just got a little worse each week

Years gone by we just let these players get loaned out and eventually leave for nothing

Put this in the Nawrocki thread, I can only assume Rayo Vallecano is paying a decent loan fee to take him with such a low option, otherwise why would we agree to that deal?

It’s well reported there is interest in Palma from Europe and the US, so why would we agree to a £2.1m price which they can choose to sign him or not? They would only likely do that if he does well, if he does well in La Liga he will be worth at least 3x that number to us. All seems a bit bizarre.

I don't believe the fee would be that low. As stated if he does well he's worth at least 5or 6m.

Kinda disappointed by the reported fee, but a) it's not my money and b) Lawwell is cheap. Chances are we won't spend big money anyway.

I have a soft spot for Rayo. They are one of the few clubs worldwide with a heavily left-leaning fan base. Best of luck to him.

I don't really give a * about the fee. Player won't be happy he isn't playing and he's surplus to requirements. Take the money and all parties can move on.
