I'm really not expecting much at all to be honest. Unless a first team player leaves I don't think we will sign another. Besides announcing a pre-contract for Tierney which might happen, I don't think there will be any sense of urgency to act.

 

That would contradict what Rodgers has been saying..

Sadly it looks like nothing has changed and we are sitting waiting to see what happens at the end of the window.

I know there will be plenty going on in the background but it would not surprise me if nothing actually happens because we have the CL games so need to keep players we maybe don’t want to until those games are played, that nothing happens on incomings.

We are always risk averse in these scenarios so will not be likely to bring in much needed back up on the wings for example before Palma goes and he won’t go until the CL games are played or certainly the YB game on the 22nd.

I do think we will get a couple of players in but as always there will be one or two positions that need addressed missed due to our approach.

 

I don't expect much, but I do expect one other winger and Tierney on a pre contract. I don't mind if he's not coming until summer.

However, as history has proven, with rodgers at the helm he goes for players that we probably have about 10% chance of getting and will end up with nothing or panic buying at the end.

 

The fact there's still two CL group games to go, where any new signings any club makes can't play in them, will affect when business gets done.

Obviously an unpopular fact, but a fact nonetheless.

Aye no doubt. Don't think it will put a halt to us doing business completely, but will definitely have an impact.

 

As I said, we're very hopeful that we can get players in that we would like but availability and the affordability of players is always something that is a challenge in this month.

But I'm fairly confident that we will be able to bring in the necessary changes to the squad that can help us. I've said before, I want to be able to bring in more attacking threat and more goals into our squad. I think January is always a really good month in order to add that freshness to your team. It's just about getting those deals over the line. I'm fairly hopeful that we can do that

We won't sell until that point (anybody going to the MLS can go well after that too). Anybody in EL or CL Won't sell either. The January group games are going to have a big impact on the windows of a lot of teams.

 

They should be looking to get a decent calibre in as we will have at least 1 qualifier in summer i know that's not to end of August but still treacherous having a qualifier!

 

Totally agree, we should always look to improve. Just don’t think the board will see the need.
