Rayo Vallecano have opened talks over a loan move for Celtic winger Luis Palma.

And the Spanish club want a purchase option allowing them to buy the Honduran international for £2.1million


Brendan Rodgers is narrowing down the search for a new left winger this month.

And, despite appearing as a second-half substitute in Celtic’s 2-0 win over Dundee United on Wednesday night, the 24-year-old has slipped down the pecking order and wants to try his luck elsewhere.

Linked with clubs in MLS, Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo claim Vallecano have already secured Palma’s agreement. They will now enter negotiations with Celtic in a quest to finalise a deal


The Parkhead club have already agreed a £4.5m deal to sell left-back Alexandro Bernabei to Brazilian club Internacionale.

Norwegian midfielder Odin Thiago Holm will also head out on loan to MLS side Los Angeles FC while central defender Stephen Welsh has moved to Belgian Pro League side KV Mechelen until the end of the season.


As Mail Sport first reported, Atlanta United are also keen to snap up Kyogo Furuhashi in a £9.5m deal, with the Japanese attacker keen to secure one final pay day.

 

I want 1 winger and 1 attacking midfield type.

1 winger who can score/create and is near as good as Maeda and Kuhn and then 1 midfielder type who can play wide like a Christie.

Also they need to both be creative guys who can run with a ball.

If Kuhn is missing in the way we play you don't see much going to happen because Maeda can't be trusted and Yang doesn't do anything. Puts pressure on everyone having to be great and clinical because not much is going to happen.

Maeda not trusted to make anything happen?.. that's a bit rough, guy just got a goal and an assist in a tough game last night to help us through to 3pts, not sure what folk have against him.

 

Would like to see Kenny loaned out to a mid table team in the league Hibs or somewhere he's going to get guaranteed minutes the second half of the season to see what he can do here after a good loan spell in Ireland.

 

I know it's just better to get rid of him, but I'd be looking for a bit more than £2.1 million.

 

Selling strikers in January is dumb. I'll be sad when Kyogo goes. Hope he stays until we qualify for the CL!

 

Getting 9.5 million for Kyogo then reinvesting that in Kvistgardeen would be great.

 

14 goals so far this season, he’s been unbelievable for the most part.

We need someone on the left wing to give us another option and give him a rest. The drop off between him and Palma is massive.

Few seasons ago we had Jota and Maeda on the left wing and they both still got plenty of game time, so here’s hoping we can bring someone decent in January.

 

Would expect to see some news picking up next week

 

Or pay the money for Kvistgardeen and keep Kyogo until the summer.. risky to allow Kyogo to leave, especially this month.

 

That would be the ideal scenario I don't see us splashing big money on a player without someone leaving but I do agree with you.

 

With teams in European competitions not able to register new players till late Jan I imagine it'll be a very slow window everywhere. As nobody will want to lose a player and not be able to replace them.

- Striker Kyogo Replacement - Kvistgaarden - £8.5m

Total spend £18m

I doubt we will do all of the above but if we were organised it is the sort of opportunities out there for us.

I think that sort of transfer dealings over the next two windows would really freshen things up and be done while still making a small surplus. We would have real versatility in the front 3, options in the middle of the park and some extra defensive cover.
