Three domestic games where I think we’ve been well below par were Killie, Aberdeen and Dundee Utd all away. When you think about it though, Killie is a shocking surface which usually makes for a poor spectacle, and the games at Pittodrie and Tannadice were played in gale force winds which just doesn’t suit football in general. Before the usual “it’s the same for both teams” argument is put forward. Yes it is, and both Aberdeen and Dundee Utd also played zero good football in these games. The first half the other week at home to Motherwell was poor, and we were too open at home to Hibs, I would say that. Folk are going on about us being pish for months, it’s nonsense.

I mean he’s got a point with fans reacting early in a game when struggling to make in roads and up the tempo. Though it’s a double edged sword, the players will react off that and push harder or fans sit & be quiet giving zero atmosphere or feedback which is no good.

Think this is more frustration of the teams performances and his tactics not always working than anything to do with the crowd.

We should be cruising into the sunset enjoying every minute, not making mountains out of molehills.

The thing Ange was always good at was putting across the message to the players and media that it’s his job to get the team playing a style that creates the atmosphere, not the other way round.

See I don't particularly agree with this, but people who are saying it's wild and impossible to believe have very short memories.

Historically he has 2 good seasons in him at a club and things go downhill.

It might be best if he leaves at the end of the season anyway.

I was glad Brendan came back and have been so pleased to see how well his second go around has gone but I’d be lying if I said this didn’t make me uneasy. Something just doesn’t sit right about the way he came after the supporters like that on Sunday. He’s entitled to his opinion but his delivery left a lot to be desired and his comments today haven’t really changed my view, if anything he’s dug himself a deeper hole. It’s a real shame.

I see he's pretty much doubled down on his pish when he could have put an end to it. Should boo every backwards pass and sing about Lee Naylor for a laugh tomorrow.

So seeing as he can't use the board as an excuse this time after they've backed him is it the the fans that will be used this time when he inevitably * off.

I said when he came back that it starts to turn toxic at every club hes been at because he starts self sabotaging when he wants to to work his ticket.

His comments were daft, but people using it as a basis of him leaving at the end of the season are even more daft.

He's always had an ego, it was clearly bruised when he lost to the huns on Thursday and he's snapped back, one comment that I agree with and another which was nonsense.

I get he left us in the lurch before, but if he leaves again it'll likely be at the end of next season. The only way he leaves at the end of this season is if we somehow lost the league.

"Working his ticket" I mean, come on :56:

Fair point, trophy wise things ended well last season but it was close.

His record in the transfer market when given money to spend at clubs is worrying too.
I can't imagine spending 9 million on Idah has helped his case with Lawwell or starting scales over trusty.

I just can't bring myself to like him though as I think he's a whopper and its probably one of the reasons I wouldn't be bothered if he left,

Listening to his presser, he is calm and composed whilst saying that he is loving his time here and calls for unity from our support. That isn't someone who plans on leaving, that is someone who wants our connection to be even stronger which will help take the team to new heights.

The new champions league format I think is a huge plus for clubs like us as there are more games and its easier to stay in the hunt. I think that will be a plus when it comes to retaining managers and / or attracting new ones. I think it makes it less likely Rodgers would leave before his contract is up as if you can get into CL you will be guaranteed post Christmas european football and a decent crack at the knockouts.

The last week however has shown that there is still a faction of the support that has an uneasy relationship with him. Personally I think hes a good coach and for SPL hes overqualified - so Id be to sorry to see him go again and face the gamble of a new manager. Reality we face is even when we get a good appointment in the door, they are likely happy to use us a stepping stone to jump to a better league when the opportunity arises. So it doesnt pay to get too attached.

I’m not saying you’re right or wrong Mo, but it’s madness to take him at his word with everything we know about him.

I don’t get how anyone can say this to be honest mate.

If he gets a better offer at the end of this season he’ll be off.

That’s fair and I can understand where your reservations come from James. Hoping he is a man of his word this time, but as we all know it is a funny old game.

I think its inevitable he will want another crack at the EPL at some point. Id be pretty surprised if he leaves us before his contract is up at end of next season though. Id like to think part of the reason he came back was to repair the relationship with the club on some level as well as to boost his own options for an EPL return. He knows if he leaves again before his times up his whole legacy at Celtic is torched for ever and seems a bit mad he would sacrifice that for the sake of seeing out a 3 year deal.

    Exactly.

He also went * ballistic at Stephen Welsh for continually passing backwards.

But of course St Brendan can do no wrong in some fans eyes, despite making an absolute * of not just one, but two press conferences in a row.
