Short answer is no one knows

The press release said select historic content so it could be anything

If I'd to guess it'll be old raw smackdowns and ppvs I doubt much if any of wcw and ecw moves to Netflix and most of their documentaries will go to YouTube

There will reportedly be "very little" WWE archive content on Netflix:

"The answer is ‘not much’. There’ll be all the current shows... All the pay-per-views, everything is going to be on Netflix. As far as your archives, there will be some, but very little.

When everything starts on January 1st, they’re going to have roughly forty pay-per-views, will be the only thing up. Just intermittent, some recent, some from years ago.

There’ll be no WCW, it’s all WWE. No Mid-Atlantic, no Mid-South Wrestling, no World Class. None of that tape library stuff. People didn’t really watch a lot of it so that’s what happened."

Given all the hype around WWE moving to Netflix, I thought I would start watching it again and started with last week's RAW, NXT, and Smackdown episodes. Haven't watched week to week since I was a boy back in the mid-2000s. Watched a bit off and on from about 2011-2015 too.

    * me, I can't stand the way it's presented anymore.

Feels like they've just turned it into a concert. Every entrance feels like a chance for the audience to sing and dance along with the wrestler. Barely any actual focus on the wrestling from the fans either with everyone dressed like cartoon characters.

Also feels like there's far too many superstars to actually fit into their shows. Absolutely all over the place already trying to work out the storylines and who's involved with who.

Will watch the Netflix premiere of RAW tonight and give it a few weeks, see if it hooks me more. But have to say I think I preferred how it was back in the early to mid 2000s.

Production values incredible, story telling top notch, captured the buzz of the move to a global platform superbly.

Haven’t been an avid watcher of the product barring the big ones for nigh on 20 years but the move to Netflix will bring me and millions of others back. No question.

They spent money hoovering up talent to stop other companies having them, even if said talent doesn't really do much. WWE is different from years past when you had loads of stars like Angle, Rock, Triple H, Austin, Undertaker, Mankind, Benoit, Jericho, Guerrero all on the roster at the same time. Now the brand of WWE is the star rather than specific wrestlers. They have two stars in Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns now.

I also find the production too slick, it feels overproduced.

I might watch some of the back catalogue but I'll never get round to watching 5 hours of TV in a week of wrestling.

Like others, used to watch it a lot in the late 90s and early 00s.

Think once they tried to introduce The Hurricane after the attitude era, I switched off. Was far too gimmicky and changed from the edgy stuff

Dipped in and out ove the last decade, specially with the network to watch old stuff.

But agree, it's way too polished and trying to be a concert.

Watched the netflix show, 3hrs long and by the time it got to the halfway point, they had just started the second actual match. 1hr and 25 mins and all they showed was the Roman reigns match.

    Mental.

4 matches was it in the whole show of 3hrs? I was expecting twice that, if not more.

Aye it’s now Wednesday night and I’m struggling to finish it. Dipped in and out the last couple of nights but it canny keep my concentration.

Not overly invested in these characters. Watching Liv Morgan vs Rhea Ripley now and canny take Morgan seriously. Like a wee lassie playing with her pals.

Totally agree with the gimicky stuff too. Feels like there are too many goofy personas hovering around the main event. Seth Rollins when I watched it about a decade ago was class. What in the name of Christ is he supposed to be now? Cutting about looking like a total *. The Jey Uso yeet stuff is also cringy as *. Supposed to be wrestling, yer as well just giving that * a gig to jump about and act like a 10 year old.

The Bloodline stuff seems fun but that’s about it for me

That's the thing, I mind seeing the Usos early on a little, they was quiet, actions speak louder than words sort.
The bloodline and having Romans back, the link to the rock family etc. all great.

Then they hit out with the gimmicky yeet patter like he's just came out of an LMAFO concert (or whoever that "band" was).

I get the need for lightness in places to appeal to the younger audience. But feels like they've really not bothered capturing the older audience as well any more.

I'm excited it's on netflix as it means I can watch it like you, over a few days on demand.

But if it's gonna be 3hrs like this and only 4 or 5 matches, then it'll not hold me long.

Often the * entrances can feel longer than the actual fights.

    This for me.

That’s what a lot of people are now primarily coming to see I feel. I always thought it was cool seeing Triple H, Batista, Kurt Angle go down to the ring etc. But what made it so good back in the day was you wanted to see what they were going to do in the ring. Now it feels the entrances are the show now, with what happens in the ring secondary.

Just not as gritty as it once was. As an above poster says it’s just too slick now.

I mind when Raw was 3 hours when I was watching it back in 2018. About 2 hours into the show you would have like your 6th match. I mind the midcard was solid too - Elias vs Bobby Roode springs to my mind. Now it’s just a real focus on light shows and dancing about

Just reading other stuff on the interweb about how few matches and the pacing of this week's episode.

Seemingly HHH said post show, this was gonna be addressed and this show was more just the nod and celebration of going to netflix.

Hope so, because for 3hrs I really wanna see at least 8 fights, if not more.
Less of the constant self promotion like you're a summer festival and more down to smack talk and kicking * in the ring please.

Wwe/wrestling is a soap opera for men, because the * storylines are settled in the ring.

Now it's * storylines settled with who's got the best/worst entrance show as you say.

    Thats good to know!

Aye just got to Jey Uso vs Drew McIntyre. That entrance man….:99::99:. My issue is you just wouldn’t know the guy is heading to a ring to fight someone.

Instead looks like he’s making his way into an under15s Fortnite tournament.

    It’s so cringy

The advertisement plastered on the ring doesn't help the Fortnite feels

I cringed/heart dropped when they announced Logan Paul is going to be full time in the wee.

I thankfully managed to miss his * a few years ago. But see Prime is still advertised in the wwe so should have realised.

Aye noticed that too. Canny go the Pauls whatsoever. Really wish HHH avoided that wee *. WWE really don’t need him
