Spat the dummy today, and over the contract bcoz he believes a club the size of Celtic should be content with such a limited player as himself as 1st choice left back.

Got away with it for 5 years bcoz our scouting department agreed with him.

The fans never have and the truth hurts. Don't let the door hit your * on the way out.

If we get offered money for him now then get him out the door.

A player running down his contract so he can leave for * all and the club don't get a fee but we've to show him respect?

Seeming as Brendan * off to Leicester half way through the season I am not entirely bought on the idea of listening to him talk about respect. Taken out of context anyway clearly the fans at the ground today were singing about their excitement for the return of one of our own KT who let's be honest is a gigantic improvement on GT. Brendan also talking as if GT was playing the game for free not like it's his fecking job that he gets paid extremely well to do.

The players did their usual lap, Rodgers would usually applaud walking behind...but both he and Taylor went straight down the tunnel..

Hopefully moves on this window when KT signs..

Yes. Why wouldn’t you show him respect? What a bizarre thing to say. What has he done to make you want to disrespect him?

He’s entitled to run down his contract in the same way the club is allowed to refuse to give him a new contract on the terms he wants. Doesn’t mean it has to be hostile or there is any animosity. It’s football and it’s business. He gets my respect every single time he puts on the strip I love and represents this football club and contributes to its success.

Feel bad for him and have done for a while. He isn't good enough but he does burst his hole every game. He must also know the vast majority of us feel this way.

Not many fans will have a bad word to say about him as a person though and I'm sure 99% of us will wish him well wherever he goes.

Probably went straight up the tunnel to get his nose checked out.

For reading between the lines Rogers comments were interesting. Basically backed Taylor to the hilt, then mentioned that some people say GT isn't CL level. Then instead of saying that GT has proved himself at CL level, he says he's had hundreds of players at Celtic that weren't CL level.

Think he was making a point to Taylor: that he's respected and wanted at Celtic, but he's not a £30 to £40k per week player.

Thought that was odd too. Basically admitting that Taylor isn't good enough for the CL.

Bcoz running down his contract and ensuring club get nothing in return shows very little respect to the club

The GT not being good enough for the Champions League was just one of several incoherent points the manager made today.

Very, very, unusual from a guy that’s PR trained to within an inch of his life in normal circumstances.

Good to see. By all accounts he's a really nice guy. Folk not rating him is up to them but there's a nastiness towards him from some that he doesn't deserve whatsoever.

It feels like he's almost been unintentionally caught in the middle of something he might have known nothing about. If he took a bump on the nose then it would make sense for him to want to get it checked sooner rather than later so I can give benefit of the doubt for that but then Rodgers post match comments where he completely unprompted brings Taylor in to the conversation makes the whole situation strange.

Rodgers is a very very smart man and I can confidently say he doesn’t ever say anything without meaning to. He’ll have known exactly what he was going to say and how he’d say it.

I've met him once and he's a really lovely guy tbf.

I do think some of the personal abuse he gets is unjustified. Although I have no idea what Rodgers thinks he's achieving with comments like that. All it does is make things unnecessarily awkward.

I want Taylor to leave, but if he does he'll go with my best wishes. He's an honest professional who works hard and gives his all. I just want us to be better and that involves replacing him.

We are heading for the same * mess we had when we let two keepers leave and left us rather short. GT is maybe not good enough for CL and some of the bigger games but he does ok in the spl most of the time. Whats the point letting him go because KT (might be coming) remember the lad from barca will be away as well come summer so we could end up with one LB who might be injury prone these days.
