Rayo Vallecano interested in Luis Palma

The Madrid club have asked Celtic about the loan of Honduran winger Luis Palma.

He is not getting any playing time at Celtic and the best thing for the player would be to go out in search of opportunities; he could find his place at Vallecas.

The clubs are expected to continue holding talks over the 24-year-old Honduran in the coming days.

Surprised at all the interest in palma. Can’t be loaning him out unless it’s a good obligation to buy fee

No loans here get him sold. I actually don’t think we can loan him anyway unless we recall someone else who is out on loan first.

    He's clearly a good player.

Just a long line of ones who aren't suited to playing in Scotland, or in a certain style.

Good if we can get a return on him though.

Genoa and Olympiakos have expressed an interest in Celtic winger Luis Palma.

It’s understood the Hoops are not keen to let the Honduras international leave at this stage of the window, with James Forrest still out for another five weeks.

Palma has only made eight appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side in all competitions this season.

Sky Sports News understands Celtic are in the market for a winger in this window.

The Scottish champions knocked back offers for 24-year-old from Bundesliga and Ligue 1 clubs in the summer

Makes sense, I mean he's absolutely * pish but with only him or Yang as backup for the next 2 CL games it would be daft to reduce our limited options even further. Can see him going after the villa game by which point we will hopefully have signed another winger and Forrest will he close to a return

Still got until February 1st so we'll no doubt get at least one wide man

Anybody part of the European squad won't leave until 30th. Understandably so.

Maybe Welsh or Nawrocki but purely because because Murray can be 5th choice CB as part of the b list.

Yeah January window is gonna be similar to summer window now when we had qualifiers to deal with. Wont want to let players leave until after the games and conversely other clubs may not want to seel players until after their games. meaning could be a relatively quiet 4 weeks followed by a mental 48 hrs

    * it. Just get him sold.

I'd rather have a youngster like Frame given the chance to cover Kuhn and Forrest.

Exactly no hanging around.. we can manage without Taylor, Palma, bernabei, nawrocki, Welsh, holm whether they are in a European squad or not.. get them moved on early doors and focus on what's coming in to replace them

Don't see us agreeing to a loan deal to Rayo or anywhere else. With Forrest injured we obviously need to keep Palma for now as cover but I imagine we are working on signing a new winger this window as one of the window priorities or at least I hope we are. There seems to be enough interest in Palma that we can likely sell him outright and for a small profit as well but only if and when we get in a new winger.

A loan deal for Palma doesn't seem like a bad idea to me as long as he's going to a club and league that will suit his strengths. A good 5 months somewhere after the Villa game and we could get a significantly bigger fee.

    We need 2x wingers.

Not just one. Especially if he leaves.

Would you trust him to play in the Villa game? EPL teams play at a frantic pace. Palma is crafty, but slow as f*ck. Opponents would blow by him. I'd punt him asap and promote a kid from the academy till we sign a new winger.

I'd agree with that, there's been too many false dawns with Yang now, I really thought he may have been the answer but as things stand definitely 2 wingers to push Daizen and Nicolas for a spot.

Players that don't play are unhappy.

    LW: New signing, Maeda
    RW: Kuhn, Forrest
    5th choice: Yang

Seems about right to me. 5th choice can't realistically be an established player cause he'd be unhappy. We could punt Yang and replace him with another upcoming winger, but it would likely be a lateral move of marginal significance.
