"I had an offer from Spurs, from Harry Redknapp, but it was too soon for myself. I think I wanted to come to Celtic, I wanted to enjoy it.

"I was starting to really enjoy my football at the club and they put a lot of faith into me, especially during hard times as well, and they stuck by me so it was great to give a little bit back and Neil was the manager at the time." - Broony

and Rogers has openly stated he tried to get McGregor for Leicester.
In your opinion maybe. I just think it's daft to hype Tierney up as this super duper loyal Celtic legend and say two players who actually turned down moves to other clubs aren't as loyal as him. Both Broony and McGregor are much bigger Celtic legends than Tierney as it stands.

I stand corrected, never knew broony got a solid offer. Know Rodgers wanted cal but never heard of a fee offered or anything, usually there’s a conversation first these days to see if the player wants it before the bid isn’t there.

Oh I don’t disagree broony and McGregor always will be. But Tierney can definitely go on to solidify the same with this move and more success. Definitely a no brainer for us. It might actually kick the clubs * in to gear too about actually developing youth if Tierney plays 50% of the games. Promising for frame or Anderson

Valle will still get plenty of game time at Celtic. Tierney's game time will be managef and Taylor will leave this window or he'll be 3rd choice LB.

They are indeed, but there is zero doubting Tierney's loyalty to Celtic.

No-one in their right mind can blame him for accepting the record-breaking move to Arsenal. Christ, we got £25m of pure profit for the laddie!

Main thing is, he'll be back here soon enough. Back home where he belongs...

Aye I'm not criticising him at all and I've never doubted that he loves the club. My point is more that it's daft to try and paint him as 'more loyal' than Brown or McGregor.

Genuinely, there is some absolute roasters on this * forum. Downplaying the PURE loyalty of the likes of McGregor and Brown because Tierney wants to come back up the road.

Deary me, Rodgers needs to be sacked and Tierney is more loyal than Broony and McGregor. What's going to be coming next?

I think it was well documented that he wanted to take McGregor down to Leicester and it was actually Desmond, who phoned Rodgers the summer after he left us, to tell him we would not be entertaining any bids for Cal at any point.

McGregor obviously seemed fine with it because he's went on to captain the side he loves and became one of the most successful players in the clubs history and never so much as kicked up a fuss.

I hate to break it to you, but apparently we should drop Kyogo to let Johnny Kenny have a run in the team.

    Totally agree.

Why is it even being questioned/debated anyway? Like what * relevance is it :56::56::56:

It would be nigh on impossible for a player to stay at Celtic if we get a 25 million bid. The club aren't going to turn that down.

That's likely true but a player can refuse to sign for a club if he doesn't want to go.

Tierney wanted to go. That's fine. He's entitled to make that move without his love for Celtic being questioned. But let's not get silly about him being some uber loyal supremo. He left, he had a chance to stay or go and he chose to go. There's nothing wrong with that, it doesn't diminish his love for Celtic but it doesn't exactly make him loyal to the club.

I don't think he will see it as he made a mistake. Why would he? He's went down and played against the very best in the world and performed admirably. In fact, some down south were suggesting he was the best LB in the league at some point. What was he on here when he left? £20k a week maybe? Got over treble that in his salary in his first year and a half then got 5 and a half times his salary for the remaining 3 and a half years of his contract. He's set for life now.

Arsenal fans are as fickle as they come, they're a bunch of utter morons but you go on their forums and not one of them has a bad thing to say about him. Understandably, they all want him to leave because he doesn't fit into the full back role that Arteta has them playing and he's far too injury prone. But there's no malice towards him, there's no one screaming about him. He's exactly what he is. A very humble, normal lad who loves his friends and his family and just happens to be in the public eye and people love him for it.

I don't want us to sign him because I think he's too injury prone but as I said in a post previously, I'll be more than happy to see him playing in our team again and I hope he proves me wrong, on the injury front.

Because of his injury issues I don’t want him to sign but if he does sign then I will fully support him as he will be a Celtic player.

Is he / Will he be 100% fit? (That’s 70% on the Tierney scale)

    … and ready to play?

The real business end of the season is on us and it’s now that counts - a fit Tierney playing the other day would have been another leader and I don’t feel the outcome would have been quite so shameful.

With Cup games incoming fast, UCL - there’s a treble to be won… getting him now would be ideal.. although I’m assuming from the talk that this is for next season and not now…

There’s no doubt he can make a difference on the pitch..

… but he can’t do that if he’s not on it.

I think it would be an incredible signing. Leaving aside hes been here before, the opportunity to sign a top level EPL full back for free is pretty much unheard of for Celtic.

The injury risk is ultimately for the medical team to assess but if he's capable it would be an unreal piece of business.

If he signs we need to ensure we have capable back up. Him signing only solves part of the issue as we need to resolve the Taylor/Valle situations ASAP.
