This has secured legend status for Tierney should it go through, taking a huge wage cut to come back and will have many other options in the world's best leagues yet has decided to come back still in his prime, this isn't Roy Keane ticking off the I played for Celtic box at 35, this isn't Andy Robertson who talks about playing for the club one day yet is now into his 30s, same with McGinn, this is Tierney returning at 27, legend

People will talk about Brown, McGregor and Forrest as legends, however, when did any of those players receive a £25M bid and £120K a week offer for their services from a club as big as Arsenal to test their resolve whilst at Celtic?

Think about that before you criticize KT for leaving in the first place

I will be there at Celtic Park welcoming KT back with open arms, Celtic bona-fide legend, he's Kieran Tierney, he's one of our own

Here: I do agree with your wider point, right - but Robbo only has 18 months left on his own deal. He’ll only by 32 by then. Would have to think, if he genuinely wants to come, and Liverpool let him run down his deal, that he’d be an excellent addition to come in and compete with Tierney. He’d see enough football to satisfy him at that age, due to KT’s injuries.

For next season: KT in, GT out; Vallé back on loan again (or another top youngster on loan); Frame and Anderson loaned to Scottish Prem./Champ. sides.

Season after next: KT and Robbo as our main LB options, with one of Frame or Anderson in the first-team squad for depth, and the other loaned to a good level.

I keep banging the drum but I see KT as the missing ball playing LCB we need. It’s a less physically demanding position on the body and gives us some real quality in that position bringing the ball out. We’ve seen he can do it brilliantly for Scotland…..and who’s to the left of him there? Could work perfectly

If it’s loan until end of season then fine because he’s had far too many periods out with injuries.
If he gets even one period out with injury in loan period then no signing permanently in summer window.

If he doesn’t announce his own signing by emerging from the green brigade with his megaphone on Sunday I don’t want it.

Broony was wanted by Tottenham and McGregor had the chance to go to Leicester when they were pushing for CL places.

McCarthy took a wage for less. We’ve had compper, boerrigter, shved, etc. countless players on the bench for periods never getting a sniff….if we can get Tierney on a contract that we only have to cover his wages it’s a no brainer. Hes younger than Greg Taylor! Haha we’re getting a player at 27 who we sold a few years ago for £25 mil. If this was one of our foreign sales we would have no chance, the only reason we’re even getting this opportunity is because he’s one of us.

Leicester and Brentford (both rumoured) could afford to pay now, much more and not stress about it this month for him. We’re trying for a loan then pre-contract. It all points towards KT pushing through the best deal for us. We can’t miss this opportunity

I'm no wasting my time on the injury worriers anymore. He'll come here, be fit for 3 seasons solid then pull a hammy and they'll start screaming they told us so :56:

Never actually put bids in though, and Arsenal blow those 2 names out the water. We’ve always had players able to be sold so at some point I bet all our better players have had options we haven’t heard about. I’d be very surprised if each year there’s not questions asked about most of them anyway

I’ll have to do the workings out again but just before the rumours picked up I worked out the average games a season a few pages back. 5 seasons with us and he’s had 5 seasons since so perfect comparison. Worked out like 5 games a season more during his time with us. Sure it was like averaging 29 games a season since he left us. 34 with us.

If we get him permanently and no injury issues then he could join the 100 appearances list by end of next season as he’s already on 170 appearances.
