We did but that was literally the first 5 minutes of the game. I am a big believer in with the format of Scottish football and playing the same opponents 3 or 4 times a season there is a shelf life for players before they get stale. Especially when it comes to periods of just domestic games.

For me we have too many in that team just now who are at that point and I actually think this is where the series of poor windows from summer 2022 to Summer 2023 comes back to bite us. As you don’t want to have to make wholesale changes to a team in one window or season but manage it incrementally. Since that summer 2022 window the only two players who have actually come into the team and nailed down a place have been Alastair Johnston and Nicholas Kuhn.

Guys like Bernardo, Engels, Idah, McCowan have all made a contribution this year, Palma did at the start of last year and Mooy had a 2 month spell in the middle of the season before but actually came in and probably improved their position I would say Johnston has done at least as well as Juranovic and Kuhn is better than Abada.

Sorry Schmeichel came in and replaced Hart in goal but outfield only two really have.

In our current match day squad we have -

Taylor - looking to move on either this month or in the summer
Scales - was a back up fringe player who has stepped up beyond his level but is very limited. Trusty is a vastly superior defender and * knows why he has been dropped for Scales.
Johnston - appears to again be playing carrying an injury.
McGregor - who is naturally declining with age.
Hatate - has been here too long and is reminding me of how Ntcham went. A good player on his day but they are few and far between. Should probably of moved on by now.
Maeda - having a stellar season by and large but I am not convinced he is fully fit just now. I noticed in the last two games he has been hobbling at times before today’s game. His work rate was well down today and he was miles off it.
Kyogo- strongly rumoured he is for the off and wanted away in the summer.
Yang and Palma - neither are good enough and both unlikely to last past the summer.
Ralston - a back up who tries his heart out but is only here because our youth set up is failing to get players into the first team and we need club trained players.

I think that list above of not good enough and wanting away is too large just now and we need a few new faces to provide a spark.

That's what annoys me as well. As good as we can be and as talented as our players are, we're very * easy to nullify.

All they do is have their 10 sit on McGregor, and have their striker sit on Carter Vickers and we're out of ideas. They're happy to allow Scales as much of the ball as he wants because he keeps * giving it away.

Rodgers is paid about 60 grand a week, I expect him to have a more sophisticated game plan if they do try and stop McGregor.

The lack of intensity, effort, imagination and structure was ridiculous today, it looked like a * legends game.

I'm not that upset about losing, as it happens, and they were due a win at some, point.

But the lack of effort, we looked like we shat ourselves today. Absolute deer in headlights stuff infront of the Ibrox crowd.

We're fortunate that they're *, and they'll drop more points in the league against pish teams. But aye, * poor today.

We played similarly in the cup final as well. Our players need to lift some weights as well. Wee *.

They will do well to win their next two games. Whether we/ them kick on from this or not the scenario will be again very different by the time we play them again. All today done in the greater scheme of things is bought Clement another 10/11 months in the job

Let's say Rangers win the next two derbies (having won 1 derby in the last 7 under Clement). And let's say we also get beat two games on top (having lost one league game in all of 2024). You still need Rangers not to drop a single point for the rest of the season.

Rangers aren't winning the league. We are right to be disappointed today. But 24 hours ago, Rangers fans were demanding they sack their manager after they scraped a draw against Motherwell after losing to St Mirren.

One game doesn't make them good and celtic bad. It does probably suggest that celtic aren't That good and Rangers aren't That bad. But we shouldn't get carried away.

I honestly still can’t get over that.

I’m almost laughing in disbelief at how incompetent it was.

The amount of unforced errors was extraordinary, un befitting of a football team at the professional level, not to mention a team full of internationals on 20k a week.

Staggeringly bad. Can’t even recall one good sequence of play

First 5 mins we were dominant and looked as though would be one way traffic. After that we looked as though we just couldn't be arsed.hate losing, and especially to the huns. But it's so rare these days, and you just know that come the end of the weekend we'll prob be 14 pts clear again and not lose another game all season.

Well said. We've more than a few bad habits in this team but we usually get away with it because of the poor standard we face. It's one of the drawbacks of the league we play in. Our performances over the past few months have been mostly poor and some individuals have been miles-off an adequate standard. We simply wouldn't get away with it against better opposition. Even in our better display's it's not uncommon to see moments of slackness and it's hard to think of another team other than ourselves who are so recklessly open and undisciplined when it comes to the defensive side of the game. This last month alone we've been caught with 1 or 2 of our defenders facing 2/3/4 attacking players and the situations didn't arise from counter-attacks either. I said when we were going for 10IAR that the biggest danger to ourselves was ourselves and it turned out to be the case. The same applies now.

Since 21/22 season we’ve had 2 wins 2 draws and 3 losses at ipox in the league so dropped 13 out of 21 possible points.
    Needs to improve.
In the 2 draws we shipped 5 goals total.
Our defence needs to get their act together against them.

Yes exactly. As bad in defence as we were in the cup final but this time we didn't even lay a glove on them *.

Read on here and listened to enough debates at the pub as to why we couldn't string a pass together, still none the wiser as to why that just happened. Ultimately though it was a * shocking day at the office and we need to be better come Sunday.

Celtic players should have walked off the park until the scumbag that hit Engels was arrested.
Don’t care if result stood but it would force SFA to do something about their scumbag support but our players annd board are * cowards in these matters.

I never said we were. Of course I still think we'll win it. But 11 points in Jan isn't finished. Still alot of work to do.

I don't think Rangers will win it, and I'm not suggesting they will. But there are far too many points still to play for it to be done and dusted. We need to get back to winning every week. All it takes is a few bad results and the pressure mounts. We basically play every 3 days in January, it's not ridiculous to suggest we may drop more points this month. Fortunely for us, Rangers are more likely to drop more. We didn't half fill them with confidence today though.

The scum wanted it more. We invited pressure by stupid aimless passes and being weak in the tackle. I hope BR learns more about the players today rather than the wins against Motherwell and St. Johnstone. We need to add more quality and get rid of the deadwood who are not good enough.

We need to learn from today we ignored the lessons that should have been learned after the last 2 cup finals against them today as in the league cup final you could see their players waiting to pounce on the crossfield pass around which many of us have been complaining about for a long while . They played it long and out wide and then they controlled the tempo from there they also swarmed all over us and we let them by being too passive and 2nd to every ball just as well they messed up against St Mitten and !Motherwell or there would be a lot less points between the teams.

There was a moment when Robertson out sprinted our whole midfield when the huns were attacking.

We looked burnt out, which considering we've had players rested is shocking.

They just wait for a mistake and we always deliver. Taylor and Scales always try a pass that was never on (that's been happening every game for Taylor for * ages) and AJ kept passing to no one.
