KT coming back would have to be on some pay per play contract, and in fairness, that is probably the only contract he is going to be offered from most clubs. Of course there are smaller more desperate clubs that would give him a standard deal but it would be a gamble. Coming in for 6 months on this deal, on loan, would suit club and player. The money is mind boggling but the player may think that he has enough. And he will still be on a very good wage with us if he comes. And stays fit.

 

He is free to speak to clubs from today - and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta appears to have hinted that Kieran Tierney could be on the fast track to Celtic this month.

Tierney has been told by the Premier League giants that they won’t be taking up the additional option in his contract - which means he will become a free agent at the end of the season and is now free to speak to potential suitors. Record Sport understands Brendan Rodgers is pushing to try and seal an emotional Celtic return - with Greg Taylor potentially heading out of the door having entered the final six months of his deal.


Dinamo Zagreb boss Fabio Cannavaro is keen on the Hoops' left-back who can leave for nothing at the end of the Premiership campaign. Should Taylor leave this month, the Scottish champions could look to fast-track a deal for Tierney with a loan switch potentially in the works.


And Gunners' boss Arteta has already left a breadcrumb for Parkhead diehards hoping to see a return for the boyhood Celtic fan. Following a return to Arsenal action for the 27-year-old last month against Crystal Palace, Arteta directly addressed speculation over the Scotland defender's future.


He said: “At the moment he’s here with us. I wouldn’t play a player that is thinking about leaving or is not committed to us, so he’s fully committed. Tierney or any other self respecting professional footballer isn’t signing up to some Tory zero hours contract.

 

He will be taking a massive pay cut to come back here. I’m still not sure it’s who we should be going after, but one major plus is that he is one of us. With McGregor and Forrest now the wrong side of 30, I think it’s sensible bringing in someone like Tierney who knows what it’s all about and who still has plenty years ahead barring injuries. I’m not someone who thinks you need a team full of guys like this, but it’s crucial you have a few in the team in my opinion.

We definitely need another left back if Tierney comes back.

He will break down a lot. Months at a time, no doubt.

 

Young LB started the game, and was replaced by an 18yr old left back towards end, in injury time even Zinchenko was put on before Tierney... he's definitely coming back here I'd reckon.

 

One man who 100% would have found today unacceptable and tried his utmost to do something about it.
