True, but I guess it is also beholden of the media to actually ask the question, as giving information voluntarily has rareky to ever been a strong point as a club. Always play things close to the chest.

So OTH has a claf problem, but still uncertain as to the extent or how long the estimated recovery period is likely to be.

It’s a question every presser, injuries, availability of players etc. we done the same with Iwata sometimes last year. Never included for ages in updates, and then he was in the squad and we’d share he was injured unavailable. He had a wee run of games, suddenly nowhere to be seen at one point and wasn’t included in the updates or unavailable until he reappeared again. He’s a more prominent player last year than Holm though, but it just screams emergency option not actually in the plans at all between the two examples Iwata last year, Holm this season.

Quite like both of them as well, but can understand why they’d not have a future here.

I get that that is a thing, but if certain players are not enquired about then they get overlooked... which kind of sums up where they are in the media's pecking order as much as it does about the manager's.

The managers pecking order rather than media, that was kinda my point. Not viewed as part of the squad really, even when they could, like Iwata did last year, come in and play a part.

Holm is interesting though. I think Rodgers rates him; but he won’t go out his way to force the penny to drop for Holm to thrive. He made comments bout talent in Holm and Lawal pre-season, what else is needed. Sold Lawal, and had Holm in the squad before we signed Bernardo and McCowan.

CELTIC midfielder Odin Thiago Holm is poised to move to the MLS on loan.

SunSport understands LAFC are among the clubs keen on a deal for the 21-year-old

Norwegian midfielder Holm has struggled to make an impact since arriving from Valerenga in a £3million deal last summer.

Brendan Rodgers is keen for the youngster to get more game-time and he's now expected to head Stateside.

Holm has made just three sub appearances this season and is sixth-choice in the midfield pecking order.

Callum McGregor, Paulo Bernardo, Reo Hatate, Arne Engels and Luke McCowan are all ahead of him.

There has been loan interest from Europe and the MLS - but LAFC could win the battle to land him.

They are currently looking to make additions for the start of the new season in February.

Holm was regarded as Valerenga's "midfield jewel", having previously been courted by Premier League big guns Man Utd and Liverpool as well as Italian giants Juventus.

He also had a trial with the Merseyside club before turning down offers from Man Utd and Juventus

Holm also had FC Copenhagen on his tail with reports suggesting the Norwegian club rejected a £2.2million bid from the Danish side.

In 2020 he was named in The Guardian's list of 60 best young talents in world football alongside Bayern Munich prodigy Jamal Musiala, Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz and then-PSG wonderkid Xavi Simons

He changed his name in 2017, aged 14, to add in Thiago as his middle name in tribute to his football idol, Spain midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

Glad it's just a loan. Looks like there's plenty of talent there. Will be interesting to see how he fares after coming back.

The young man needs something as he is stagnating here, came full of promise and has totally disappeared in our squad.

Glad to see he will be getting a move in January. Plenty of game time will do him the world of good. I still like what I’ve seen in flashes but he needs to show it more.

Always will trust Rodgers judgement so he’s obviously not showing enough in training to be getting a look in. At 21, he needs to be playing regular minutes.

LAFC are finalizing a deal to sign Norway youth international midfielder Odin Thiago Holm on loan from Celtic, sources tell GIVEMESPORT.

Holm, turning 22 in January, has made 16 appearances with Celtic since joining from Valerenga in 2023. Holm has been a peripheral figure this year, with just 24 minutes played in the league across three appearances

Holm excelled with Valerenga, making 76 appearances before joining Celtic last winter.

Celtic are currently top of the table in Scotland, with a huge 14-point lead over Rangers after 18 matches played.

The move bolsters LAFC's midfield, which is currently undergoing plenty of change. Eduard Atuesta's loan from Palmeiras expired and he has left the club, ditto for Lewis O'Brien's loan from Nottingham Forest, though LAFC want to re-sign the Englishman.

LAFC finished top of the Western Conference in 2024, but fell to the Seattle Sounders in the quarterfinals. LAFC won the U.S. Open Cup and also got to the final of the Leagues Cup.

The 2025 MLS regular season kicks off in mid-Februrary, with clubs reporting for preseason over the next few weeks

A loan with the hope one club in the league will take the punt on him. If he was that good we would not have signed Engels, Bernardo and McCowan in the summer.

I think the loan has come a year to late though.

If he performs well there then someone in the league will buy him for the money we paid, most leagues won't. I don't think you need to be great to shine there either.
