If he played left wing for us, ahead of Taylor, he'd be great. Sadly, someone in Argentina told him he can play LB.

Would screw up Rodgers’ inverted-winger system. Need to play on the side opposite their strongest foot (e.g. Kühn on the right).

Maeda almost plays as if he were left-footed. And said system is prone to getting stuck when teams pack the center.

Not in the least; he just does less dribbling than Kühn, and more diagonal runs in behind without the ball than him. If he were playing like a traditional left-footed LW, he’d be hugging the touch line, showing for the ball to his left-foot, so that he could put in a cross. That’s almost the diametrical opposite of how he tends to play. He wants it ahead of him, to provide a direct threat from his dominant right-foot, taking the full-back out of play (or dragging them out of position) without having to dribble past them.

No, it isn’t, and especially not with overlapping full-backs and quick balls in for forwards (including those inside-forwards) to run in behind. You’d fail to leave room for either of those ingredients were you to put left-footers at LW and right-footers at RW, clogging up space for the overlap, and being less inclined (in the literal sense) to provide those diagonal runs in behind that give a trickier option for defenders to deal with.

I know you’d love Rodgers to play an Alec Ferguson style 4-4-2, but you’re just going to have to make peace with the fact that it won’t happen, rather than trying to kid us on that our players have those tendencies already.

When Maeda came on, one of the first things he did was run down the left side to put in a cross. Kühn does not do this as often. And no, I'm actually hoping for more of Ange's system. At least on one flank. I'm not sure if we will replace Taylor, so a classic LW would be good to have in front of him.

About Bernabei: I received that Gabriel Carvalho's band is helping the side's permanence. You must use a part of the sight value and the parcel will also be used as collateral for the values entered by Al Qadisiyah.
Inter tries to date 5 million euros like Celtic.

and Bernabei, who is still awaiting negotiations with Celtic, from Scotland, are the main examples.

Negotiations with the Scots are advanced. Executive André Mazzuco, in fact, should take advantage of his trip to Europe, where he is finalizing the sale of Gabriel Carvalho to Al Qadisiyah, to outline the final details of the purchase of the left-back's rights.

Bernabei's loan contract ends on the last day of 2024 and, initially, the Colorado directors sought an extension. However, Celtic did not accept. Therefore, Inter should acquire part of the rights of the 23-year-old player, whose permanence is considered a great reinforcement for the next season.

According to the record (I know), we have accepted £5m plus add ons. I know higher prices have been mentioned but if we got that for him right at the start of the window we have to be happy.

Information about Bernabei has excited Inter 's backstage and is an ingredient for the club to seek, at all costs, to keep the left-back at Beira-Rio for 2025. Following the renewal of Argentina's national team for the 2026 World Cup, the name of the 24-year-old has emerged as the main possibility for the position in Lionel Scaloni's team.

Bernabei has been under Scaloni's watch since his good performances with Inter in the second half of 2024. Marcos Acuña (River Plate) and Júlio Soler, 19, who plays for Lanús, have already been called up. With the Argentine national team, Bernabei would be more valued, and the amount paid to Celtic would be an investment and not just a sum to be fired.

Behind the scenes, Inter believe they can sell Bernabei in the near future and that the full-back has the ability to return to Europe - but to a big centre. Furthermore, signing the full-back permanently prevents other Brazilian clubs that have him on their radar from strengthening their squads.

Inter traveled to Europe and hopes to finalize negotiations for Bernabei
CEO André Mazzuco has traveled to Europe and is expected to finalize Bernabei's signing from Celtic. Mazzuco is in Madrid to follow up on Gabriel Carvalho and the deal with Al-Qadisiyah and, after sorting out the bureaucratic formalities with the Arabs, he will travel to Scotland for a meeting with Celtic.

With Bernabei, everything is set. Contract length and salary bases. The Scots have already signaled that they will accept payment in installments. And Inter, which made a fortune with Carvalho's transfer to the Arab world, has the money to close the deal.

    * knows how we keep doing it but our selling fees are incredible when you look at the money we've been getting in for guys that can't even make our squad lately.

It was but I just saw somewhere else now reporting it’s £7m but likely paid in instalments. They all seem to say similar things, I would assume we must be getting the agreed price or we would have tested the market from the other Brazilian teams.

Almost like the wee guy is a good player just not suited to us or this country. Weird.

    There is a *.

We are getting our money back on Bernabei. We got a good wedge back on Barkas. Just need to get our dosh back on Nawrocki, and we will be quids in.

And sack all the scouts responsible.

Moving halfway across the world to a country about as different in climate and culture as you could imagine must be ridiculously hard. No wonder he struggled, and many others have and will in similar circumstances. Delighted he's doing well and hope he kicks on and makes the Argentina national team.

Loan Nawrocki and Palma to the MLS, probably end up with £5million each for them.

Maybe keep Yang another season then do the same with him.

I found a couple of articles from Brazilian media https://ge.globo.com/rs/futebol/tim...ra-clube-da-arabia-saudita-veja-valores.ghtml

    https://scinter.com.br/noticias-do-internacional/leila-pereira-inter-30-12/

First link (according to ChatGPT) translates
Internacional has agreement to sell Gabriel Carvalho to Al-Qadisiyah in Saudi Arabia for approximately $22 million, making it one of the club’s top sales. The funds will help finance transfers including Alexandro Bernabei from Celtic.

The second link apparently suggesting Palmeiras are set to make a €7 million bid for Bernabei surpassing the €5 million from Internacional

If both are true I would think that apparently accepted €5 million offer must have some decent add ons or sell on clauses

Brazilian media also asked why he’s not being called up for Brazil mate. Then they got told he’s an Argie.
