He needs to move on, but he had a good game today. Fair play to him.

Thought it was one of his better performances, despite being too slow to move the ball at times. That ball to Idah to set up Kyogo should have been the winner.

Thought he was our best player today, still 100% sell in January but it shows he can do well elsewhere

Decent game. Lovely pass to Yang who then proceeded to squander it.

Played well today, to be fair to him. Couple of really nice progressive passes.

He's always good when he doesn't have to actually defend.

Thought he looked hesitant early on, almost shiteing himself to try anything, didn't want the ball.

But settled down and did well. Good performance considering how little he's played.

Played well and was not afraid to try balls over the top.

Too slow on the ball. Almost all our attacks second half started with Scales because Welsh doesn’t move it fast enough, then has to go square back to Scales who can get it out his feet quicker.

Felt like it was a last token appearance before he leaves for him yesterday

Thought he did okay. When moving the ball side to side he was too slow but he actually made more forward passes than all the CB's in our last month it seemed. He needs to go to get regular first team football though

I’ve always thought he’s very good but just not a Celtic defender.

Very intelligent in his defending but he doesn’t have the size or aggression to play for us.

Would be ideal in a back 3. The pass to put Yang away is a shambles btw.

I was thinking he would make a great old fashioned sweeper, he reads the game well and can definitely pass the ball better than most CB’s.

Celtic are ready to let Stephen Welsh join KV Mechelen on loan.

The Belgian side have already tabled a couple of offers to land the Hoops defender. The champions are set to sanction the move to allow Welsh to get back playing regularly in the January window. Welsh came in and started in the recent draw against Dundee United but wasn’t even stripped for yesterday’s win over St Johnstone

Brendan Rodgers has Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Liam Scales all in front of Welsh. He also has Maik Nawrocki

Welsh has come through the Celtic ranks but at 24 feels he needs regular top-level football. KV Mechelen have been trailing him since the summer and are ready to give him that opportunity, as they push for their domestic play-offs.

It would also add to Welsh’s value with him going into the final year of his contract come the summer. Celtic did something similar when they sent Jack Hendry to KV Oostende on-loan and then sold him to the Belgian side.

Bernabei's loan is about to end so that'll be one less, and that loan was another "dud with no future" that has probably just made us a profit off of him. Sometimes it makes a lot of sense to loan out a player and give them the chance to increase their value.

Would rather he joined a English Championship side as that would probably increase his value more but at the same time a move to Belguim isn't too shabby at all.

Wonder if we'll give him a year extension before he goes, pretty sure we did with Mikey Johnston last year.

24 so think he needs to move somewhere to get game time, whether it's on loan or permanent. I've always thought he was decent enough, think he'll have a decent career but as I say, at 24 and not getting much of a look in here, should be looking elsewhere.
