Absolute bawhair between them, margin was too big but I had Usyk by 1 possibly 2.

He’s a special fighter, was before the rematch and remains it. To compete with a guy that big and that skilled over so long takes an elite level performer.

Caveat and side note though - DD beat him fair and square in the first fight.

Watched it in the pub with my mates after the gig tonight. I don’t follow boxing but thought Usyk deserved the win. Bored me to tears though, such a * sport.

I'd much rather watch your YouTube guys throwing wild punches trying to kill each other completely uncontrolled than the pish I seen last night. Yawn.

Except the YouTube guys don’t do that at all it’s just actual boxing but at a really * low level.

    Absolutely unreal.

We’re witnessing something very, very special in Usyk. It’s similar to when Pacquiao was marauding through the weight classes (albeit less ferocious) - he’s capable of doing things that physically though be beyond him. Really special fighter, and seems like a great man too.

Everyone appreciates the skill, but the ‘will’ really is one of absolute steel. He’s able to push through difficult rounds in fights, and turn the tide as well as anyone I’ve seen in decades of watching boxing, and it’s one of the hardest aspects of the sports. Even at the absolute elite level, you see one fighter begin to gain momentum and the other begin to fight to survive (not get stopped) in there. Usyk toughs out the most brutal of rounds and then goes on to turn the tide and find a way to win.

    This is sports, mate.

Sometimes the absolute best at whatever they do cancel each other out, nullify the best aspect of one another, etc. Happens all the time in every sport.

It’s ok not to be a fan of any sport, but people do seem to hold combat sports to an impossible standard at times. The fight wasn’t as exciting as the first because neither man was ever really in trouble, but from a boxing perspective it was still close and intrigue. Think of it as an intriguing 1-0 win as opposed to a come from behind 4-3 win, like the first.

Aye, I should stick to watching street fights uploaded on reddit :56: like everyone, we're there for the knockout, rocky-esque vs the Russian style wars. Just seems * when it's basically soft jabbing pish the full time.

I’ve seen this plenty but I couldn’t disagree more. I struggled to find 4 rounds for Fury.

What rounds did you actually give to Fury?

I think a lot of people see boxing as a 36 minute fight, and just think because it’s been competitive that the scoring should reflect that.

It’s just twelve 3 minute fights that the judges need to score. They are also highly discouraged from awarding 10-10 rounds from the sanctioning bodies.

To that point, I’ve seen people say it’s a disgrace as Usyk won by 4 rounds.

He didn’t win by 4 rounds, he won by 2 rounds and therefore 4 points. If the judges give 2 of the rounds the other way then it’s a draw.

Not saying this is you mate, far from it. If you think Fury should have won more rounds then fair enough, it was a competitive fight, but there was a very obvious winner in Usyk for me.

Landed the far more clean and effective work the entire evening.

As above, just out of interest, what other rounds would you have awarded to Fury?

I had it really wide to Usyk, also had first fight wide too.

Think Usyk lands so many body shots that most people just don't score. He was landing at will in both fights, and also controlled the pace and direction in both fights.
