Absolutely wild people could be against him coming back.

I'm desperate need of a LB and he would jump at the chance. Yes it needs to make financial sense or its a non starter.

We are in a position now where he doesn't need to play every game. He was run into the ground first time round.

He would be coming back a far more experienced and better all round player. Absolute no brainer it it makes financial sense.

People thinking with their Peter Lawwell heads on again I see - * how much we pay him. If he improves us then we should bring him in. We can afford to rotate him in enough domestic fixtures that a Valle, Frame or Anderson can get enough games to develop alongside him and we have a top class LB to play in European matches to give us far better balance across the back four.

    Get it done!

He won't get half those wages at his next club. Everyone is well aware of his injury issues. If he comes back he won't be on more than CalMac.

If we do bring KT back, I'm sure we'll only play him about half of the minutes he's available for. Valle would still get lots of playing time. And if KT gets injured, we could have Anderson, Frame, Scales or even Ralston to cover LB from the bench.

If we can get him a few million or pre contract then I’d be for it. He can play centre back as well if needed, then have Frame as back up or another one in the door.

Would love to keep Valle but doesn’t look likely and KT is a massive upgrade on Taylor. As long as we can keep him fit.

That was the issue first time round though, he played through a lot of injuries and that’s what * him. Need to wrap him in cotton wool this time.

Let's take a look at the evidence....
    • Cost £25M to a top 3 EPL team, now available on a free aged 27
    • Was strongly linked with Man City and Real Madrid.
    • He's been star man for Scotland last few years, the glue that holds a dodgy defense together playing LB, CB and RB
    • When he has played he is top drawer and a level above anything we have at Celtic, arguable better than one of best LB in Europe in Andy Robertson.
    • Loves Glasgow Celtic with a passion
    • LB is a problem position at Celtic
Yes, injuries have been a problem, that didn't stop us bring Craig Gordon in - worked out not too badly.
CCV has to be managed carefully too.
A thorough medical to ensure he doesn't have a career limiting issue that would force retirement in next couple of years is necessary.
Is he willing to be part of Celtic wage structure? We are not exactly paying breadline wages and he has a few bucks in bank already and I'm sure a wee signing on fee can bridge the gap.

Did I mention he loves Glasgow Celtic, is 27 and a top drawer left back available on a free?

Its a feckin no brainer....BRING HIM HOME!

He absolutely walks into the current team.

Problem is he needs crutches to do it :fear:

If it's Tierney I'm all for it but I'd like us to extend Anderson contract and back him as his back up. Manage Tierney minutes while giving Anderson a decent chunk of selectee domestic games..

So if his wage at Arsenal is £120k p/w he's been earning £3.3m a year AFTER tax. If we paid him £25k p/w he'd be topping up whatever he's saved from that by £700k a year.

    Think that's affordable for all.

Regardless of what happens I think we got by far the best of the deal. No way Arsenal would have paid that transfer fee if they’d know how little return they’d get. In saying that we got a succession of fairy duff left backs :54:

I don't get why some are pure passionately against bringing him back. I totally get the argument about his injury record and is it worth the gamble, but seeing a bit of anger about it in places which I don't get.

Guy is a world class LB so there's one for the + column straight away. Also think that we wouldn't be daft enough to bring him in without a backup plan. Ideally Valle on a permanent.

So if it happens I hope everyone gets on board rather than giving him jip, all that does is create problems as we seen last year when BR came back.

Celtic are considering a move for Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney next month.

Sky Sports News understands the Hoops are exploring a pre-contract and loan offer for the Scotland international.

Arsenal are expected to listen to offers for Tierney in the January transfer window, with the club not expected to trigger the one-year contract extension in his current deal.

There is currently no agreement on a new contract for current Celtic left-back Greg Taylor, with his deal due to expire in the summer.

Celtic also have Barcelona left-back Alex Valle on a season-long loan deal.

A number of clubs across Europe are also said to be interested in Tierney, who Arsenal from Celtic in 2019 in a deal worth around £25m.

If we can get a loan and then a free in the summer, maybe with a nominal fee to Arsenal. It's worth gamble..

KT in and try and secure Valle on a permanent deal.. LW too.. all of a sudden our left side will look a lot better.

    Excited by this one.

Theres no doubt if he stays fit he would be quality but you wouldn't bet on him starting 25 games next season.

He's missed 113 games with injury out of 345 Arsenal and Scotland games since he left us 5.5 seasons which is about 35% of his teams games.

Greg Taylor in comparison in the same timeframe has missed 27 games with injury. He misses about 16 games a season more than Taylor.

Since Johnston signed for us he's missed 18 games with injury only from one single injury really, Tierney in the same timeframe has missed 68 with 4 different injuries. If Johnston had missed as many games in that time he'd only have played 36 times for us since he signed.

    This, all day.

KT and Valle on the left would be unreal.

Would even take Valle on another loan if KT was in permanently.

Then sort out a deputy for Maeda and that left side for the next 18 months is solid.
The right side with AJ/Ralston and Kuhn/Forrest is good as well.

The side looks a lot more balanced and assured if we just fix the left side
